I'd like to see a "Strip Armor" and a "Auto Distribute Armor" and a "Reset" button.
Strip armor would help remove all the armor, and the auto distribute armor button would help make the tedious armor distribution easier when you want balance/equalize the armor or an even distribution of the points when you have a tonne and a half to spare. This could be packaged into one button i suppose, but I guess some where along the lines someones going to appreciate the strip armor button. I think.
The Reset button puts it back to the defaults.

I think the big problem with the mechlab is that everything has it's own little box area. The stats and such should be transparent and put over the mech area, like in MW4 where there are just 4 little bars that go up or down. I'm not sure why 4 bars take up so much space in MWO. I rarely look at it, and the most frequent one i look at is heat and remaining tonnage.

Anyways, there's lots that I think should change, but your list is a good place to start. Definitely needs a rework. Needs to just be redesigned to follow the process of customizing you mech better.

I want the ability to save a loadout. So i can load save loadouts for various variants. However I think I am aiming too high.

I'd say a lot of that is that in the pipeline.

This is great, the full collection of changes brainstormed by myself and others in ML, and I'm sure by many others. The Main one I would really like to see is the ability to full screen that window. I run the game at my native res, 2304x1440, and by golly I wanna take advantage of every pixel!!

Also its really small.

This!
I think it is essential to the mechlab.

The "Strip Mech" and "Max Armor" buttons are also a must.

Some useful ideas. I'd settle for a mechlab that allowed me to change tabs (i.e. apply upgrades) without having to save first. More weapon info was almost the first thing I asked for after joining the beta, along with a rename function. Most to all of the info in Ohm's tables should be available in game. I do like your 'damaged state' idea - good call.

I would add:

1) Rename battlemech
2) Save mech blueprint into a file (to be exchanged with friends)
3) Build mech from blueprint file

Should also be diffrent statistical tables available like:
  • Mech comparsion (by any parameters u choose)
  • Performance graph (from last 20 games or optional)
  • Damage dealt graph
  • Damage taken graph
  • Repair cost graph
Also full statistics for the mech should be seen like:
  • Mech K/D/A ratio*
  • Distance travelled
  • Damage dealt total
  • Damage taken total
  • Average lifetime
  • Nickname
  • Best killstreak (even over matches)

I really think that KDA ratio should be tied to mech also, cuz IMO it's more objectiv.
As I may be a good Jenner pilot but a **** Huncher so my pilot ratio will go down, but that's cuz I try to drive hunch not because I'm bad Jenner pilot.

That would bring us open to 2 things:
- Easier wipe of pilot statistics (just sell the mech)
- If a pilot has a good KDA it could be shown in game, so everyone (or just teammates) could understand what kind of people they are pug-ing with.
