I think I'd go with some kind of wall gun. Damn things were small cannons .60 caliber and up. And good for 550 meters.

Also liable to take your arm off at the shoulder if fired without having a proper mount.

I'll let that sink in for a bit.

Lol k, amendment: While I know it can deflect infantry-level energy weapons (blasters and other lightsabers), I wonder if a lightsaber could deflect 'MECH-LEVEL energy weaponry. Of course, this would require ignoring convection (otherwise the wielder would be vaporized simply because they were close enough to deflect the shot), but hey - Sci-Fi, and Star Wars in particular, is known for that (see: the Obi-Wan/Anakin duel on a PLANET OF LAVA in Episode 3)

I'm personally a big fan of the M41A Pulse Rifle. It loads a clip of 99 10x28mm caseless rounds (which would be much, MUCH more effective than you see in any the Alien films or AVP games), so even if you lost all the mags in ejection, you'd still be good for a while as long as you fire conservatively. The high rate of fire (900rpm) means accuracy is a problem at range if you fire full-auto, but it is otherwise fairly easy to handle. It also comes loaded with a 30mm grenade launcher, which is surprisingly accurate at range, but is very dangerous to use close up.

The non-canon cannon I would prefer is the 30mm GAU-8 with the A-10 still wrapped around it.

I'd say a Nambu Auto Pistol, and if there was room for it a KA-23 Subgun

Droydeka, AKA destroyer droid in the Starwars universe, deadly and easy to put at the back of your ejection seat.

For a canon based approch i'd Prefer a ER Laser Pistol or Rifle depending on how much space my Cockpit would provide for that kind of personel equipment.

For a non-canon Approch i'd prefer somthing along the lines of an FR 8. Preferably with Semi Auto instead of manual bolting. Its short and powerfull.

Considering how much time and money is spend on a Mechwarrior in general i still wonder why no House or Clan ever tried to implement Battlearmor into a Mech intead of old fashioned Cockpits.

If you are going that far why not kick it up to a mini-punt gun (old big ****ing shotgun). :)

since he said canon or non- canon, i wonder nobody shouted "lightsaber" yet.... ;)

personally, i´d take dual vibro Katanas, or, even more awesome: DUAL CHAINSWORDS!

FOR THE EMPEROR THE CLANS! :(

Fine then I call that and raise you a plasma bolter combi rilfe :)

The first thing I'd pack would be an M4A1 Pulse Rifle with enough bullets & grenades to blow the **** out of a star of Elementals.

I also wouldn't forget a cold Dr. Pepper. Remember, you need to, *cough cough*, stay frosty.

If the M4A1 fails, it's time to bust out the AA-12 with Anti Tank rounds! OH YEAH!

If I run out of ammo, i'll always keep my Dispersion Pistol (from Unreal II, that's my favorite Dispersion Pistol)
handy.

And if all that fails, I'll keep a Thunder Hammer around in case it's HAMMERTIME!

*insert Hammertime picture here.* (I freaking hate that stupid "this image extension ain't allowed in this community" message. ARRRGH!)

It could be similar to how in WW1 pilots didn't have parachutes because it was thought that they would bail out unnecessarily

My weapon of choice has to be the FN P90, it's small, compact, with enough punch to go through light body armor.

Not familiar with canon small arms, but...

KAC PDW (unlike the P90, it's still effective when fired in a semi-automatic mode, where the P90 has to be used full-auto. At that point, I'd just about rather have a Suomi or PPSh-41) or short-barreled SCAR (Mk16 for most situations, Mk17 if fighting in mountainous, jungle, or urban terrian). All of these weapons will perform as well as or better than the P90 whether punching through soft personal armor at close range or turning skulls into canoes at 400 meters.

Backed by a G19 or H&K P30 with LEM trigger or H&K HK45CT with LEM trigger or Smith & Wesson M&P45 with thumb safety and Apex trigger kit (doesn't matter which) and a puukko for most situations or ESEE Junglas, if in a jungle.

Weapon lights and optics on all weapons. Ability to take a suppressor required.

I would just take a bat.

More likely a steel one so it can pass through customs easily.

I also wear steel cap work boots. They are pretty effective for defense, and prevent toes being crushed from dropping items on them.
