After integrating CryEngine 3.4 we noted a number of issues with the DX11 implementation that we didn’t feel were acceptable to push out to production. We have worked with our partners to address the key issues, these
have now been resolved and we are enabling DX11 internally for testing. Once it passes QA it will be enabled on production, we appreciate the fans patience while we work to ensure the DX11 renderer is just as stable as the DX9 renderer.
True or false?
Performance wise?
Will the game look better?
Anybody knows?

As far as "Will it look better?" Probably, but there is no guarantee of it as that's up to whether the devs take advantage of the API for the graphics / lighting / etc.

I am running my legacy lovely XQ6700 @ 3,2 ghz & 8gb ddr2 & single 7870 OC edition~
So I will probably get a gain which is what I hoped since I am kinda sad about my ~30 ish frames per second ^^

Huh. That's interesting. Reading that, now I wonder how performance will change for my A10 5800K APU once DX11 goes live. I assumed it would go up, but now I'm uncertain. Ah well, thanks for the explanation, Vulpes.

I highly doubt that if you have a high end system you would see anything but an improvement in performance as long as the visuals don't get a big upgrade. Right now as it stands my i7 3960X@4.2GHZ with SLI 3gb 580s sees very poor gpu usage. And this is only using one card. I am really hoping that when DX11 is implemented those of us with high end systems will see an increase in gpu usage. There is no reason on a system like mine why my framerate should be dipping to the high 40s while the gpu usage is in the 60 at 1080p.
Currently the only way I can peg my one 580 at 99% is to play at 2560X1440, but since SLI doesn't work yet I play at 1080p to try and keep my framerate around 60fps, but with the low gpu usage at 1080p the game is never absolutely solid at 60fps its always dipping.

Same issue here with my single Radeon HD 7970 running at 1100/1500 at 1080p, though I am in part choked by my Micro ATX 785G chipset on my motherboard (and the RAM and HT/NB limitations that come with).

So I am really hoping the update of DX11 will come soon and the card will help my old QX6700 @ 3,2GHZ a bit :3

Star Trek Online, a long time DX9 game that only fairly recently switched to DX11, got a flat 40% performance increase on my 5770s, and I heard about similar performance increases from others, regardless of the system (it took them a bit to sort it out, but once the bugs were worked out it was amazing). WoW gained hugely in from the move to DX11, too.
Even if this game doesn't see such a performance increase, offloaded tasks from the CPU don't bog down the GPU in DX11, again, because it's more efficient.
Simultaneously, however, DX11 enables new features like tesselation, so if you use the new DX11 graphical features, you'll get a game that looks better for the same performance, or maybe slightly worse performance. That all depends on what you do with the performance freed up. I'm guessing we'll see at least a modest performance increase for a given detail level, but obviously we'll see a much higher detail cap, too. If enabling DX11 forcibly enables better lighting and tesselation, FPS will drop; if we're allowed to control that, then we can choose between looks and performance. Either way, it'll be a win, and for everyone, if for those with low end CPUs most of all.

In a word, compatability.
I've felt for a while this was a likely cuplrit behind the so-called performance increases to MW:O which drop performance through the floor, especially for higher end GPU users. I wonder, if that's the case, if performance will go significantly higher for higher end GPUs once DX11 is enabled, and also on the flipside, what that will mean for the people who use GPUs in Compatability mode with DX11 (I recall that unlike it's vulgar predecessor, DX10, that DX11 has compatability modes for both DX10 and 9). Food for thought, perhaps.
Either way, I think maybe I'll hold off on a new GPU until DX11 is live in MW:O...
