Again... Back on topic. We've had several newcommers recently and every one has been great. Welcome aboard! I can't remember the last time I went in to TS3 and found it empty. Come on by and check us out!
It's an idiosyncratic grammar anomaly, exclusive to this instance. See, we are each a "Lone Wolf" as per our faction. So, the plural is actually "Lone Wolfs" as it's referring to a collection of "Lone Wolf" status peoples. Also, from a thematic standpoint, once you become "wolves", you can't exactly keep the "lone" part anymore, as you are with others, not lone. "Lone Wolfs" much better indicates a collection of individuals. "Lone Wolves" seems more of an excercise in oxymoron creation, like "anarchist collective". Doesn't really work.

For instance, I play MWO without pants. Don't the rest of you?

It would still be wolves. The plural form of the word wolf is wolves no matter the context. So a group of individuals each of which is a Lone Wolf would be referred to as Lone Wolves. For example "There are 1000 lone wolves in England". Just because you put the word "Lone" at the beginning doesn't negate the ability to reference the fact that they are alone or force them together. It is merely a reference to a group of individuals with similar characteristics,
Each of us is a Lone Wolf. We are found in a group in one location. That group can properly be referred to as Lone Wolves without indicating that they are together in anything other than the fact that each is a Lone Wolf. Only the sharing of the Lone Wolf characteristic makes us a group of Lone Wolves.
I should really just let this go as I don't really care either way, and I don't want to argue with my own peeps, but my girlfriend was an English major and would never forgive me.

Wolves are pack animals but our society has taken on this idea that a single howling wolf is lone. In actuality "he" is most likely communicating his territory to other packs in the area or attempting to attract a mate, or signalling to his pack for any number of reasons. The wolf's howl is still somewhat a mystery and it is rare to hear only one howling. Again they are pack animals and you will usually hear a chorus.
In context, the group Lone Wolves are by virtue of the fact a pack onto themselves and by definition can no longer be considered "Lone". Albeit, you do not form a cohesive group that regular plays together, member ship within the group negates the "Lone" aspect.
I understand the need for a collection of this nature within the community and fully support it. I've yet to drop with you guys as I've been very busy with other things, but based on what I've read I can't wait and hope to find that time soon. Carry on as you were.

You are right in a sense. What makes us remain "Lone" in my opinion is the fact that we have no real leadership or "Alpha" and we promise/require no loyalty. Like the natural Lone Wolf some of us may wonder off to join other packs or start packs of our own and others might continue to wonder indefinitely.
The site is more so just a place for players with similar characteristics to get together and have some fun on their own terms and not a place to become a part of some functioning organization with rules, restrictions, and requirements. Our membership is open to anyone who chooses to wonder in. I think of it as a more of a social network than a pack or group. We come, go, and do as we please and the only loyalty is that which is formed by friendship.
Come on by and check us out for yourself when you can. We're always happy to see new faces and only having minimal time is no issue. Sign up, hop in TS, and play for as long or short a time as you please.

I have noticed on NgNg a lot of you tag yourself as Lone Wolf; I like it..
But in the interest of Lone Wolfs; I would like to clarify something.
Lone Wolf is a Choice, not a Pup (Pick Up Player) that forms a PuG (Pick Up Group)
Lone Wolf's swear no loyalty, and hence get no rewards, and/or penalties during Faction Warfare
You can Be a Pup, and swear loyalty to any of the Houses, or Merc Units (and Clan)
Again Lone Wolfs Stand Apart from petty politics, and they decide their future - not a House Lord or MercCorps Commander
See Ya Dirt Side ....
