Tactical advantage when they said they intend to put a do not play with third person users toggle in the matchmaker if they put it in? not to mention shooting accurately with third person is a pain in the ***. I remember when COD tried it guns became useless and the riot shield dominated the play style...
Third person is more for hack n slash, sure if they add melee weapons it might be useful...but otherwise i think its more trouble then its worth...

I feel as though the tone and demeanor of the post suggests they have virtually no interest in not putting it in and instead are going to ignore us. Clearly if they respected our wishes, as the gamers, many of us founders without which this game would not exist, they would have atleast said they are reconsidering it,
1. They have more important things to do before adding non-critical features
2. They have said that MAYBE they LATER will add it - as in, after they deem it 'officially' finished
3. They did not need founders cash to make the game so stop beating yourself on the chest. We got a few mechs witha cash bonus, that's it. We have no rights whatsoever to influence and decide how they should design the game.

No MWO. You don't understand.
Mechwarrior 4 has been free for like 6 years, but it's not something I felt like playing.

Not gonna play a game that's not fun and doesn't give a good experience. I can always hang around and hope for a very large 180, but it's doubtful.

IIRC there is about 60-70,000 founders; and all research I've ever read on F2P economics say that once you've invested any amount of money in a game, you're much more likely to keep spending than someone that hasn't spent anything is to start spending.
In short, founders are more likely to keep spending money on MWO than new players are to start spending.

Real HC players welcome 3rd person then beat kids while in first. Game on FrailWarriors.
Dear Torch and Pitchfork crowd: There are so many more pressing issues than this.

I am getting bored of pointing out the same things over and over again, you people are freaking out over the phrase "3rd person" way to much. PGI is fully aware of the impact it could have and have stated that this game will always hold the "1st person experience" as a top priority because that is the signature of the mechwarrior series. The only reason they mentioned it was to assist new players and possibly increase their experience as well as possibly cater to the audience that wants this kind of mode which, again, they have stated that even if they go through with it (For some unknown reason) that being in third person will not give any kind of tactical or visual advantage over the "1st person" player. But as another user said in regards to new players, it is all about "New player retention" which is what is lacking severely right now.
It seems like you all fail to realize that (As I stated in a previous post) PGI needs to try and find a happy medium between the diehard mechwarrior fans and the person who knows nothing, or has never played, a mechwarrior game before. Sadly the "diehard community" obviously cannot support a project like this all on its own (Especially with the way most of you cry every time a new feature is added or tweaked) hence why we need the new crowd.
Now before I get flamed for calling you all whiners there is a recognizable difference within that class:
There are the whiners (Who keep crying when things change and THEY don't like them) and then there is the Constructive crowd (Y'all who actually analyze a new feature and make an educated opinion as to why you do or do not like it in a single thread). For all of you who are the whiners if PGI listened to you all the time then they would be neglecting your comrades on the other side of the argument. It is damn hard for a company as small as PGI to try and cater to everyone's "Wants" due to the relatively small budget they have and manpower, they are trying to find a happy medium and it takes time.
I do understand many of you, as I am, are critical about the game due to your love of the mechwarrior title PGI knows that we are a very critical community because they are toying and changing ourn "baby", but give them a bit of credit here and stop accusing them of "hawking money", "Ruining the game" so on and so forth as these do not really help move the development into a state we all want to see it, you can curse the heavens that PGI is "destroying mechwarrior" but giving an educated opinion as to why instead of crying about it would help them much more.
Endstate: Either help PGI by moving on to a constructive conversation because PGI has the feedback they need (Hence why the thread was locked) or you can continue to pollute the forums with this discussion and we can read the same regurgitated "opinions" over and over again. I ask that you all have some faith in PGI and just because a feature or some YOU don't like isnt changed the next day don't try and claim that "PGI doesn't listen to their community".
P.S.
I am very grumpy in the morning, cant you tell?
