I know its not part of game play but it is part of setting mood and giving life to a game. I really think you guys and gals need to kick it up a notch with the tunes. I'm gonna be straight with you guys. most the music your have put in videos and other media sounds like low budget p0rn0 music... when it should be epic *** kicking war music with a hint of deep space foreign planet exploration.

We are waging war over planetary systems in 100 ton war machines in a fight for galactic power, not hanging out with our hillbilly neighbor playing corn toss and shooting shotguns.

this game should be one beautiful package and read as a whole music and all.

MW2 did it best and this was in 1995... we are better than this guys! Links \/\/\/

After playing payday the heist, i would suggest implementing a similar system to the music system in that game. basically the music changes dynamically depending on whats happening in game. if there is a lot going on, the music is fast, furious and syncs nicely with alarms/gunfire. when there are fewer enemies or before combat really starts, the music calms down.

these are in game clips, where the music is "made" by the game. by syncing different loops together.

i think mechwarrior needs a similar system.

OH MAN! yeah it would be sick to implement that system. that's awesome I've never seen something that dynamic in a game before. I fiend my self not wanting music in a game I play for hours and hours as its like to the same album for hours and hours. but even just form a marketing stand point they need to help them selfs out.

I'm missing the Beta Section of the old forums more now. There was a rather lengthy thread about this already. The game engine supports dynamically changing music already. We just need music.

Oh no way Comppro! good to hear! I just hope they are subtle but smart about it. not stuff thats gonna be annoying in 20 min of play if they did have music. But again i'm talking more about them promoting them selfs, I truly care about this game doing as good as it absolutely can and I see the music being a very weak point in generating hype.

example... I cream over these trailers! And i'm not saying do it like this but its a good example of how to get you amped! if your new to the whole MW world the mood has to be sold correctly.

Some one posted this and it was background but worked well even with the fake broke up transmission coming in.

Everyone misses the B at the end...

Anyway, I used to make music packs for an old game I no longer play. It supported a very archaic (track based) exploring + fighting transition system. I hope they just do the game justice with the music.

I'm going to be re-iterating what I said in the thread on the beta forums...
The music would need to be dynamic taking in to account multiple situations. Be it, hiding, spotting, on-approach, idle, shut down, attacking (long range), attacking (short range), under assault, base being captured, enemy nearby (doesn't know you're there), and damage critical. At least, this is what I feel it should have as far as "circumstantial" music. An even more basic idle/moving and fighting transition would still work just as well.

Edit: Oh, and the ability to toggle it on/off and adjust it's individual volume level.. I like my music pretty quiet for most games (25-30%).

Well the sounds of lasers, autocannons, explosions, and shattering armor makes it sound like war but music of that nature would be nice too. ;)
