It absolutely is astounding that 92% of the community that funded the developers with 5 MILLION dollars before EVER PLAYING the game can be so blatantly disrespected in an attempt to lure the SUPPOSED masses that want 3rd person view and HAVE NOT funded the game.

The grass is NOT always greener and I am floored that PGI is willing to gamble that the community who, as I have stated, have ALREADY GIVEN 5 MILLION doesn't want.

While, I wouldn't begin to tell anyone what to do with their accounts moving forward, I think it's time we show PGI what it would look like if our voice is not heard. I'm calling on the 92% community to protest this even louder. Take a week off from MWO and let the server's be silent. Boycott mechwarrior online for 1 week starting today 11/17.

This change is NOT acceptable to any of us and we need to take a stand.

Well, before we talk boycotts, we really should get more information... so far they have done a really poor job of explaining how they would implement this... is it only for training? Or are they wanting to split the community? I don't want to see any sign of 3rd person in normal drops at all though. Their poor description of what they mean has caused this can of worms...

There are so many more details we need before we start talking boycott. There many come a time where this is fitting, I don't think we are there yet.

I'd love to, as i'm vehemently opposed to the the implantation of something as insidious as 3rd person into something as grand as MWO... but unfortunately I want to play more than I want to boycott. I applaud your moxy however, good sir!

Here's a hint: that 92% of the community your're talking about? That's only 92% of the people here on the forums, not the entire game.

No, they have explained it. You guys just heard the words "3rd person" and freaked the hell out. If you would have kept listening, you would have realized that this is only a matchmaking option, and that the option would not be available for community warfare or other main game types. Only basic random pugging. Hell, they never guarantied that they would even do it. Its just an idea. Since mechwarrior 2, 3 and 4 had it. It makes absolute perfect sense if online did have it anyway. As someone who's been a long time fan, all this hate toward 3rd person confuses me. Its been in the series for years... why complain now?

That 92% (generous, it was 91.55% earlier) is only 92% of people that voted in a poll and said NO to 3rd person... the actual number comes out to less than 1% of the total MWO Community...

And... as I posted in the update thread from Garth on 3rd person... here's my take on everyone complaining/arguing about 3rd person view...

The most MW games single player games, only MW3 and MW4 were equipped with multiplayer, and in MW4 was the community split it, for many leagues had eg disabled on their servers the 3PV, as no heat and infinite ammo, which is perhaps even more not penetrated to the South Pole, but it was so ... I played FPV simulations already on the 16-bit mega Drive console, and will now no childish graphics like a platform game consoles, Tomb Rider or accept
