I am Jenner pilot myself and only tried a Raven in the closed beta, but the Raven 2X has the same hardpoints as the Jenner-K.
I use:
4 med laser
1 streak 1t ammo
1 ams 1t ammo
xl 300 engine
232 armor
endo
ff
12 dhs
1 jj
You can run the same thing (except the jj) on your Raven but it is a bit expensive. The ams also isn't that important at the moment, so you could drop that and get more heat sinks.
You are light mech, speed is your weapon. So I would suggest a fast engine.

The 2X has decent hardpoints so your mech choice was not that bad. But you need more armor and more speed.

The Raven 2x/4x can no longer fit 300-size engines. PGI wanted the Jenner to be the final word in Light Supremacy, so they nerfed Raven variants to 245 max size engine, with the 3L being able to fit up to a 295.

For now.
Let's wait what the Spider and Flea bring to the table.

(Top of the board in XP, 8 assists, 4 kills, 600~ damage... are those reliable enough for you? -.-)

While yes, the other chassis have advantages they also come with cost. I do PREFER the 3L, but the 2X is notably cheaper and easier to get into while still offering more effective firepower than the 4x. Just MY $0.02.

How did you get 8 assists and 4 kills? Once you get a kill, its your kill and their assists, you can only get 8 assists and kills combined. Which in itself is pretty good.

The Raven-3L is amazing, I pilot Jenners, and it is just as good, don't let people pull it down. However, the other 2, with the limiting engine size, make much better light scout/heavy guardians than scout and scout brawler. I think the build you have (2 Large, 2 Medium, 1 SRM6) is fine enough, but usually, at least, you should have the medium instead. Actually, I would suggest at least 200 SRM ammo, at least 1.3 heat efficiency, 4 medium-small lasers, and that SRM6 AND the largest engine, probably XL unless you can get all that and a standard. When ECM comes out, you can guard your larger mechs and add a lot of DPS with your weapons.

If you want to be better at protection in general, consider dropping SRMs for SSRMs on other lights, the SRM6 will be overall better than 1 SSRM2 though. Just stay close, protect and add DPS, and you will do just fine, don't do that scout and brawl other lights though. They will cream you. In fact, if you play with a friend, you could consider asking him to use a few SSRMs, against lights, and you can be effective in a lot of different match ups.

Spider? No. Spider will get ripped apart by Jenners that carry 2 SSRM2s. *yawn* Also, the Spider was designed for Melee combat, and lacks a lot of real firepower as a result. And the Flea? The anti-infantry/tank 'Mech? Yeah. PGI is gonna have to ninja-add some hardpoints to those 'Mechs to make them even a threat... and maybe some tonnage too...

You're right, I was quoting the numbers from memory and forgot that the kills wouldn't have netted assists. My mistake. The other numbers are accurate; my premade was spectating me on TS going "HOLY CRAP DREAD YOU'RE CRAZY IN THAT THING!"

Right of the top you're absolutely right, but I still have to see a mech in MWO that's accurate to the table top.
And the game is not meant to be played 1on1. Jenner pilots tend to have that state of mind though (which gets them killed often enough).

Currently, PGI decided to make Raven 2X and 4X COMPLETELY USELESS. I know what I am talking about, because I was forced to buy and drive them anyways to open elite for 3L variant. With current overwhelming might of Jenners only Raven 3L can compete them in matter of speed and weapons, while still lacking JJ. You can put 3 ML + 2 SSRM and 295 XL engine to shot and chase this overpopulated annoying Jenners. Only plus you can get by driving Raven - no one will think seriously about you, every single Jenner want to try to chase and kill you fast and easy. Your job as Raven pilot to prove them wrong.

Oh, that sucks. Well a slow light is just a low armored medium in my opinion. So I would go with the fastest engine you can get and build around that.
