(Top of the board in XP, 8 assists, 4 kills, 600~ damage... are those reliable enough for you? -.-)
While yes, the other chassis have advantages they also come with cost. I do PREFER the 3L, but the 2X is notably cheaper and easier to get into while still offering more effective firepower than the 4x. Just MY $0.02.
How did you get 8 assists and 4 kills? Once you get a kill, its your kill and their assists, you can only get 8 assists and kills combined. Which in itself is pretty good.
The Raven-3L is amazing, I pilot Jenners, and it is just as good, don't let people pull it down. However, the other 2, with the limiting engine size, make much better light scout/heavy guardians than scout and scout brawler. I think the build you have (2 Large, 2 Medium, 1 SRM6) is fine enough, but usually, at least, you should have the medium instead. Actually, I would suggest at least 200 SRM ammo, at least 1.3 heat efficiency, 4 medium-small lasers, and that SRM6 AND the largest engine, probably XL unless you can get all that and a standard. When ECM comes out, you can guard your larger mechs and add a lot of DPS with your weapons.
If you want to be better at protection in general, consider dropping SRMs for SSRMs on other lights, the SRM6 will be overall better than 1 SSRM2 though. Just stay close, protect and add DPS, and you will do just fine, don't do that scout and brawl other lights though. They will cream you. In fact, if you play with a friend, you could consider asking him to use a few SSRMs, against lights, and you can be effective in a lot of different match ups.
