As the Mechs get bigger, knowing your course to better ready yourself for stopping, turning and other maneuvers helps. Practice working in tight areas also as the difference in cutting close verses getting hooked on a corner can be life or death in rear armor situations.

Try not to focus on the little guys, sure take shots when they present themselves, but dont follow into the attack unless they are the final targets. You will end up drawing them into your weak spots, leave your teammates to fend off the ones too close to you.. do the same for your team!

Even larger Mechs have thin rear armor, that thin rear armor is spread out over a larger area as well. Keep friendlies or large objects at your back when you can, if you cant, do your best to turn into attacks from behind leading them to your healthier thicker armored areas.

Communicate with the other heavies, let them know you will work with them to focus into fire groups. Protect the smaller Mechs, they in turn will aid you in rear defense, push fast flanking runs or scout out potential threats.

Remember to be dedicated in your actions, you will not be lapping the zone.
