I spent the day yesterday recording exactly how much I paid in repair & rearm costs after each match.

This thread is intended simply as a data collection point for Jenner repair & rearm costs.
Feel free to add your own data, but please keep it Jenner related.

I generated the data below with the following battlemech:

Jenner JR7-D
four Medium Lasers
two SSRM2's w/ one ton of ammo
one AMS w/ one ton of ammo
XL245 engine
Endo Steel
Thirteen Double Heat Sinks
Two Jump Jets
Maximum Standard armor

Matches where I received zero or negligible damage have been excluded. Values are sorted from least to most expensive.

Here are the repair costs for matches I did not die in:
14,439
14,836
19,947
20,886
22,264

Remember, this includes the cost to rearm the SSRM's and the AMS.
This should give you a good idea of what you can expect to pay in a similarly modified Jenner.

According to the numbers, running Ferro Fibrous on a Jenner will cost you about 10-15k more per match in repair costs. Note however, my -K build does not require rearming SSRM's like the -D, so in actuality running with ferro fibrous is a bit more expensive than these numbers would indicate.

Personal Opinion:
Overall I didn't like this build. I did like the damage those medium pulse lasers put out. I even one-shotted a couple of mechs right to the back of the head. They never knew I was there. However, I had trouble with heat management. This mech requires a much more reserved rate of fire when compared to my -D build. I quickly learned that I had to let my heat bar drop to 65% before I could fire again.

I also felt at a disadvantage against other lights that were running streaks. For the most part I would try to avoid these mechs and/or apply hit and fade tactics.

If your playstyle includes sneaking up on another mech, firing a couple rounds, and then retreating this mech might work for you. You want to avoid extended fire fights.

UPDATE: New Mech Data

Jenner JR7-F
six Medium Lasers
one AMS w/ one ton of ammo
XL280 engine
Endo Steel
Thirteen Double Heat Sinks
Two Jump Jets
Max Standard armor

TO DO: Log repair costs

Those look right. I use a Jenner-K with Artemis, DHS, ES, and FF, and those numbers are about what I get for R&R bills.

For comparison sake, thats similar to what I pay for repair on my DRG-1C w/ ES, 300XL, DHS, and 4x LL. Maybe increase it by ~15k.

Looks right on the money, my Jenner build is very similar. Am maybe 4-5k below this, presumably because I did not take DHS.

First I was thinking: "How the hell did he fit 2 Streaks in a jenner with 4 medium lasers."

Then I noticed you were using a baby engine...
:(

More on topic: For a Jenner, not going FF is a real money-saver. I do have it, and it makes the repairs much more pricey, even when you don't die. I seem to take a lot of glancing hits, even if they seldom truly take my armour down.

You can fit the same with a 300XL - even if you take FF it's around 30K win / 60K loss repair bill. Still good!

I am running about 20k for a win and maybe 60k for a loss with a 300XL 2 streaks and ML. I have endo and DHS.

Yeah, you can fit it, but you've got to sacrifice a lot of armour and heatsinks. And nothing kills you faster than overheating with thin armour :-)

I like my 15DHS Jenner...

I'd be interested in knowing your complete weapon load out. I'm trying to build a Jenner-K so I can level up to master.
However, I'm just not happy with the weapon hardpoints.

Ideas currently in my head are:
four lasers (ML or SL have not decided)
one SRM-6 or LRM-10.

I don't have high hopes for the LRM, but I might try it just for the surprise factor.

When I made that initial purchase to an XL, I was running into things far too often. I chose to stay at stock speed until I made it a little further through my learning curve. I'm currently up to something like ~118kph with my first speed tweak.

Funny thing is, I've got a Jenner-F ready to go with 280XL (+speed tweak) in my mech bay. I'm having so much fun with my Jenner-D, however, that I have yet to use it. ;)

I trialled an LRM10 & 4x SLas with my Jenner K when I was starting out with it, mainly because I didn't want to use my Jenner D loadout with one less SSRM2. The idea that I could do some dmg while I was spotting for the team at the start of the match, or moving between targets, I was having some success with it for a bit, but overall it was underwhelming.
I ended up switching to 4x M Pulse since it weighed the exact same amount as the LRM/SLas combo and had alot more success and eventually became a powerhouse. I've been so happy with it I'm not even sure I'll sell it once I've finished grinding my Jenners out to master which was originally the plan.
It sounds weird, but the Pulse Lasers actually make enough difference in play style to be worth keeping the extra chassis around so I don't have to keep refitting my D when I feel the need to play it.

On another note, I can't understand how you can use a Jenner without a 300XL, its pretty much a must for all my builds :S, then again I am a bit addicted to speed.

I've never had a problem with -K hardpoints, as most of the time I don't use two missile launchers anyway.

Anyway, the build you requested:
280XL (I don't go higher than this, as speed is hard-coded to a maximum of about 140 kph anyway due to netcode issues)
11 DHS
4 jump jets (I use 4 or 5, as they will eventually fix the jump jet bug)
Endo Steel internals
Ferro-Fibrous armor (215 points)
Artemis
4x Medium Laser
1x SRM-4 (1 ton ammo in each side torso)
CASE in both side torsos

I also have another build with LRMs:
-D or -K variant
245XL
11 DHS
4 jump jets
Standard internals
Standard armor (208 points)
4x Medium Laser
1x LRM-10 (1 ton ammo in head)

I used to run a build with four Small Lasers and one SRM-6. Worked well. Also, a -D build with four Small Pulse Lasers and two SRM-4s. Haven't tried either of them in a while though.

I also don't always run fast Jenners. I've never had a problem running them at standard speed, and I've even tried a few builds that ran slower than standard.

Sounds very interesting. I had not considered MPLS'. I'll have to try that.
How is the heat?

I arrived at a 280XL per a discussion in another thread:
http://mwomercs.com/...-to-the-jenner/

Engine size discussion doesn't pickup until about halfway through. In summary, it was stated that the game caps the speed of all battlemechs to 140kph. Reasoning is stated in the thread. If you believe that, then working the math, a Jenner with a 280XL + two speed tweaks = ~140kph.

I prefer the 280XL on the Jenner as well but went with a 300XL. Its better fit on my Cicada as well, which keeps me from having to buy two XL engine (xl are so pricey :))

Heat on 4 M Pulse is quite manageable with 10 engine DHS(2.0) and 1 extra(1.4) , but reading most of the posts on this forum I think my play style is a little more conducive to fairly hot builds, using a 280 you could probably fit an extra one in if u need it, and I currently run just under 200 FF armour on it, so you might be able to strip some more there if you need it.

My comment about engines was mostly talking about 245 engine based builds, for me the big engine makes all the difference, I also live in hope that they will fix the net code issue that limits to 140. Also, as SquareSphere mentioned, the 300 rated engine makes alot of sense for other mech builds out there as (like the 245) the next engine up is a much bigger weight step than normal.

Heh, anytime I see a hunchback or atlas with no arms I am thinking:

You've got no arms left.
Yes I have.
Look!
Just a flesh wound.

Ah, that never gets old.

But on a more on-topic note, I tried that that 4 MPLS -K build and have appended the data to my first post.
