I've been thinking about buying some Mechwarrior credits but I've been hesitant since this is still beta. My question is, when the game goes live am I going to lose all the mech's, credits and soforth I've spent all this time building up, or do I get to keep them? I don't want to spend money on mechwarrior credits if I'm going to lose them or the mechs I buy with them when beta ends.

The game is live from now on unless something drastic happens and they have to reset.
you will never lose your MC if they do reset any premium time or MCs you buy are refunded in full and you can reuse them all again

Open a support ticket; no user on the forums can help you out, just the dev team themselves.
Some payment methods take longer than others to show up on your account.

MC is only bought with hard currency. You earn C-Bills playing the game, and can purchase every mech except Hero Mechs with C-Bills.

you can buy the mechs with in-game credits.
Go to your mechbay, on the lower left there is a bar saying "Trial Mechs" and "Owned Mechs." Click "Owned Mechs" and you should see an empty mechbay. Click "buy mech" or "add mech" not sure what it says but click it on an empty mech bay in the lower center of your screen.
The first mechs that appear are MC only, real world money, Hero Mechs because PGI has to make money somehow. However, if you look at that window there are icons for Hero, Light, Medium, Heavy, and Assault mechs just click those icons to see the list of available mechs.
MC will never be reset, but neither will any other stats so feel free to spend it as though this is a real-live game because it basically is. Premium time and Mechbays are your best "value" regarding MC, although many of us enjoy our cockpit items and some hero mechs like the Flame and Ilya as well.

Liking yourself, well... meh.
Anyway: Sometimes it does not show up instantly. Doing a match is all you need. There's also the possibility the purchase bounced (if your card can't pay it, it will tell you).
Honestly the rate of mc per dollar goes up with higher purchases. Just buying 15 dollars will get you fewer mcs per dollar than say 30 dollars.
Personally I buy them at 30 to 50 dollar increments whenever possible to get the most MC for my buck. One large purchase is better than many small purchases.
