I was watching an Future Military stuff on TV Yesterday and i got the idea of Mechs using Drones to look over the battlefield or act as fire support in certain cases These drones also die very fast you can only change their weapons(should be a LS MG or TAG).The drones should be good for an Commnder to guide the Mech warriors but they also should weight alot for balancing(only one drone per mech or an unique mech which can hold two drones at once) The drones can't Cap the base Here is an example of Drone models:

-Drone-Small agile and hard to lock on
-Scout Drone-Small Agile hard to lock on moves pretty fast the easyest to kill (can die from one LS shot)
-Armed drone-Drone with a light weapon or Tag equiped can only be equiped on Heavy to Assault Mech
-Assault drone-Drone which is the slowest but also the tougest can equip heavy laser and weak AC type( ONLY ONE no more)

Can't really think of how you can detect em some of the drones can be hover type or land type etc.

Anyone remebers the original video of fake gameplay that PGI created to sell Mechwarrior 5 to publishers? The hero there uses an aerial drone to scout the city block ahead of him ;) I'm not big expert on Battletech, but I expect it is wildly non-canonical?

Anyway - scout/attack drones in MWO? I vote no, that's what light mechs are for.

This will likely be a module and not targetable. It will simply vanish after a set time.

I wouldn't mind the ability to use a drone. Perhaps one of the restrictions on it could be it is jammable if it gets to close to an ECM and can be shot down if it gets to close to a AMS system. I like the idea that it is an expensive and heavy module for a mech. Perhaps only a few per round.

In Battletech universe the only Drones built by man where based in the Lola III destroyer hull ship, unless you want to pay aerospace figths dont hope to see anything like drones.

For the video of PGI i wouldnt mind some satellite support for battle, but again in the context of the game it isnt too common in battle

I believe that was supposed to be the "Beagle Active Probe". I can't remember but I think it says Beagle on the screen when it launches.

No its like in the Modern Warfare 3 whe you call for a map (dont remenber the name) Beside i belive the beagle acts looking for neutrinos from Fussion engines

While changed, it doesn't mean that they still won't show up in the pilot skills. It's simply shown that they have the idea of drones already.

some of these modules are already listed in the XML files... you can be pretty sure they are coming at some point!
(check ohmwreckers guide in the guides section for a list of modules already listed out in the XML)

Well in there is the three ton PathTrack drone (ground based) and the two ton NapFrind drone (hover based) on the Hi-Scout scout truck; but it's generally a bad design choice in a multiplayer game to replace one of the main roles of an entire class of mechs with a piece of equipment.

Camera drones were part of Mechcommander 1 & 2.
