Why are people complaining already? The game is set in 3049. The Clans come a year after that. If you know the lore anyways. Just have patience. They aren't going to release everything for this game right when it comes out. But yes I can't wait to pilot my Dire Wolf. 4 med lasers/2 large lasers/2 LB-20x = good game.

There is no way that the OP wasn't trying to be inflammatory. With how many countlesssss times it's been explained that there won't be clan tech until 3050. Not to mention the cheap shot at MW4 ( It wasn't as bad as people say, come one ( but screw MA) ) and his persistent whining about clan tech. Please delete this thread, someone.

It's because mw4 ruined things by bringing a large portion of the player base into the mechwarrior universe and completely separating clan mechs from the idea of the clans. Unless you entered the franchise before mw4, or have read the lore - you have very little idea why clan tech is special or why clan mechs aren't instantly available

First off, this made me extremely happy.

Second, do not worry, clan battlemechs will come. I know for sure that the moment the clans are open to players (If they ever are) I will be first in line to join Clan Ghost Bear and claim my Kodiak. But until such a time, we will have to hone our skills in the Inner Sphere, using Inner Sphere battlemechs and Inner Sphere technology. Nothing else we can do about it.

Patience, young grasshopper.

on a side note, there are more mechs than just assaults, and many of them are better in almost every way imaginable. you see best thing ever, I see slow-moving easy target, just saying.

It should be a real test for Clan pilots to use IS tech before they get their toys.
I'll miss my MadCat mkii for awhile, but that shouldn't mean we can't put a beating on IS factions with their own mechs.
Since the Clans don't come till a year later, we could likely expect Clan mechs to enter the arena on the first expansion pack or two.
I'm perfectly fine with this.

I call a Trial of Possession for the position of first in line. You may keep the Kodiak either way, I will take a front line Executioner.

I could play this game and never see one clan mech and be completley happy with the 100's of other vehicles that the Battletech universe offers.

Balancing Clan mechs to IS would be a nightmare without the advantages of the player base being able to tweak weapon systems to overcome Clan Tech.

It was simply an expression. Though I will gladly forgo the trial to fight side-by-side with you.

I will say that MW4 was the largest deviation from the MW franchise at the time, and was a far cry from 3 or 2, but I grew up playing 3 and when 4 was released and I bought it, I found that it wasn't half as bad as a lot of people now make it out to be ( ie; crys of heresy, and ruination upon the MW franchise but they might just be purists) I found that while it wasn't any MW3 it was still a good Battletech game, and not a bad place for first timers to start.

I never said it was a bad game, just that it was very confusing for first time players trying to get into the universe. I still enjoy mw4 even today :P

It's not a bad place for beginners to start to learn about game mechanics - but universe and lore wise for mwo, it's about the worst version for newbies to step into. The mechs, and the era are all wrong. It poisons people against steiners, and makes them clamor for out of timeline mechs. I still recommend it to any new player that wants to jump in.

I want my Dire Wolf (Daishi), I hate playing with any other mech. I also dislike using IS tech and prefer Clan tech. Please, please, please bring out more clan tech and mechs for the game. I dont care that they wont arrive till a year after its released but please, I beg you, bring out more clan mechs and let us be able to salvage parts and mechs from the battlefield. Also let us have an option to alter our mechs loadout how we the user sees fit, like in Mechwarrior 3.(I loved Mechwarrior 3 but despised MW4 and its child[Mech Assult] for the XBOX.)

I love Clan 'Mechs and tech as much as the next fan, but DAMN. Calm down and enjoy a refreshing take of battles fought without Clan gear for a year. I actually look forward to it, even re-installed MW4 Mercs and reconfigured a whole slew of 3050 IS 'Mechs into their standard configurations to get a taste of what it might be like, and I have got to say strapping myself into an Atlas Prime for the first time was a lot of fun. It was interesting to break away from my usual routine of using Clan 'Mechs and use the traditional stuff for a change.

Just enjoy the months until the Clans invade. I promise you do not need to worry about everyone else getting Clan tech and leaving you behind. We are all going to have the same resources to pull from. And think about this; if Clan tech was made available instantly, everyone else would have it too. You would not be getting the upper hand you are looking for. I also love the Dire Wolf, however just because you can fit more weaponry on it than nearly anything else is no reason to start crying because you are limited to piloting an Atlas like everyone else until the Clans invade. You are not going to get special treatment in this game, and whining for Clan tech to get an edge on everyone else is no way to compensate for a lack of pilot skill (which I suspect due to your apparent fears of not having access to what is probably the deadliest 3050 'Mech and having to pilot something else like the rest of us). The only fix for that is practice. Practice where you have to fight your opponent on a level playing field :P

I find that I'm repeating myself about the invasion timeline.

The first push in the Clan invasion is in the late fall of 3049 and it lasts about 13.5 months and then the Clan forces retreat to Clan space to elect a new ilKan IIRC. 25 months later the invasion returns and this is the big invasion that almost destroys the FRR and takes a large chunk of DC space.

You are close, but until March of 3050 when the First Wave was scheduled. Before then it was measly bandit worlds, minor kingdoms, unknown star systems, etc.

Maybe you only want your precious Dire Wolf becuase you have no piloting skill and must rely on armor and weapon alone. Take some time to biuld some skill and branch out in the BT universe. Be happy with what you get and stop freaking whining!!
