This has probably been suggested many times, but I don't think it has been stressed enough since it's not in the game yet.
As of now, mechs can be extremely expensive because they are all loaded up with their standard equipment. You're paying more for weapons and the engine than you are for the mech itself. Most of the time if the player knows what he's doing, all of that standard equipment will be sold immediately.
Because of this, I think there should be a separate shop where you could buy the chassis of a mech variant. No engine, no weapons, no heat sinks. Just the chassis itself.
