I personally think I'm more of a Fed than a Lyran, since I seem to favor mechs that can hit at least 100kph over those mechs that are unable to match said speeds. Moreover, I seem to be smart enough to know how to use cover to protect my lighter mechs from LRM barrages and direct fire from enemy mechs alike, and I can think quickly enough to be able to flank enemy assault mechs with my light or medium mechs. Perhaps I'm just too smart to be a Lyran?

On the other hand, I've seen assault mechs charge out into the open without support from their fellow mechs, only to be gangraped by lances full of light and medium mechs (with the occasional heavy or assault mech present to distract the hapless victim long enough for it to be taken down), and/or taken down by volleys of LRMs from 750-1000 meters away. Perhaps these people were Lyrans? They seem stupid enough to be one.
