It would be nice if chain fire could be swithed on and off as a firing mode. Turn it on and even your groups will fire in chain sequence. Would be nice for laser/ppc boats, in the older mechwarrior games it reduced the rate that heat built up, and how high it went. For energy boats like my awesome, gameplay will be slightly more viable. For now, it will stay a 2 shot wonder, 2 shots and you better be running away so you can cool off. Kinda defeats the point of an Assualt Mech. Chain Fire increases out effective firepower, but it's more demanding from a piloting standpoint.

Press the backspace key.

You can thank me later.

(PS: If you want a mode that chain fires all of your weapons regardless of group, just set a new weapon group off to the side with all of your weapons and set it to perma-chainfire. Then you'll chainfire your entire weapon set whenever you fire that weapon group)

Is it actually listed in the options menu? Last I checked there were quite a few "advanced" commands missing from the keymap menu.

yep. Backspace.
though missiles dont chain prpoerly right now. They just fire right after the other and not in an even sequence like the ACs do...

It is not listed. Krolmir, when hitting backspace, it will only affect the group that you have highlighted. So, highlight groups and activate/deactivate as need be.

yeah...i'm looking at the control config right now, and no fire-mode controls are listed. what else am I missing?

Thanks for the heads up about backspace. I've been looking for chainfire too.

I'm positive that chain fire used to be listed under controls in the option menu. I have no idea why they would remove it. I find it very useful with high heat builds on Caustic Valley. It is, however, listed on the website here: http://mwomercs.com/...raining-grounds
