Ho, mechwarriors!
Lately this forum has been filled to the brim with bile and resentment, and though it hasn't been entirely unprovoced I feel we as a community should be trying to maintain a more positive atmosphere here. That way new players will be more likely to get engaged and maybe ghe devs might feel like dropping in once in a while! :-)
So, in an attempt to lighten up the mood; let's hear what your favorite aspect of MWO is! The one with the most unpredictable answer wins candy (maybe)!
My favorite aspect is that it feels like nothing else, in an era when every game seems to try and ape the most succesfull competitor I feel like the devs are doing a great job providing something that feels fresh and unique!

What a great thread. The OP shows his selflove by liking his own great and thoughtful post. In the spirit of this thread im declaring my selflove by watching a movie with Sasha Grey and having tissues nearby.

To explain all of my favorite things I will provide for your a script feel free to act this out on your own:
- Scout (S): Thermal contact moving to the left, assault size maybe atlas... looks like D8ish are moving to confirm
- Drop Commander (D): Copy that LRM's move into firing position heavies start moving in that direction, wait for confirmation to commit.
- Whole Lance (W): Got it,
- S: Confirmed target Alpha is an Atlas and alone, LRM's in positon?
- LRM (L): Roger, solid target?
- S: Target is good and painted... Bring the rain.
- L: Firing
- D: Heavies Advance on target Alpha, bring him down.
- S: Confirm Missiles are good, Fire for effect. I'm keeping him Occupied... heavies ETA?
- Heavy (H): Rounding the corner in 200 Meters.... Roudning corner firing.
- D: Maintain fire on Alpha till he drops..
- W: Roger
- S: Heads up two mediums incoming, bravo and charlie, bugging out gonna see what i can see.
- H: Alpha down!
- W: Whooo!
- D: I can't see call the next target:
- H: Target is Bravo.. looks like a swayback.
- W: roger
- L: Moving
- S: coming back to paint... target is lit
- L: Firing
- S: Bravo is down, so who's next? .....

When I ask "Is anyone new the game?" and someone says yes, and after I clue them in on the basics they actually listen and do them.
Doesn't happen that often to be honest but when it does it's a nice feeling.

I like how the game runs when people work together. I like new people who can at least grasp follow the leader. I like people who grasp wolfpacking enemies instead of Clan honor duels.
Most of this is rare since: my friends are impossible to wrangle online together, people either flatly ignore chat text or openly insult you, people run off to have pointless fights and get killed...
...and the coup-de-grace - the stability is so poor that grouping is often a series of disconnects and mechlab crashes.

Buying your first mech. I just got a Cicada, now if only I could figure out how to play with the loadout...

Thus far my favorite part of the game is scoring perfect Alpha Strikes on cockpits. Bonus points if target is a Catapult.
