Is that bug, cheat or some equipment? He was basically invisible to me most of the time cause he had no icon on radar and was running at high speed so i coudlnt keep him in sight.

well it isnt equipment... how far away was he? he may have been out of radar detection range, you can see farther than that in game. also if he gets out of your forward view he will drop off radar as no one has LOS any more, even if the mech is directly behind you. radar is not 360 around you.

Man, this reminds me of one of the old novels. One of the 4th Succession Wars ones, if I remember correctly, in which one of the Kell brothers straight up disappears from everyone's sensors in the middle of a duel and cleans his enemy's clock.

I think it was Morgan Kell in his Archer ... (just read the novel) .. he simply vanished from all sensors. Maybe it was a Dev who had the secret Morgan Kell Module

I'm an old BT Boardgame player, and I remember Sam Lewis of FASA being asked about that event and he just shook his head and said, "That will never happen again."

The novels where great in general but there was an awful lot of nonsense in many of them. Some authors did not seem to understand how soldiers or technology worked either in the BT universe or this one. Sadly it is just as bad if not worse in the DA novels, even the few that are as good as the top classic BT novels suffer from some ridiculous battle sequences.

In order to see them on your map, you must have direct line of sight, or one of your teammates must have them targetted. If they run behind you or behind a hill, and nobody else has them targetted, you lose them on the map.
