NGL, you mention the Closed Beta forums, yet not a single person back then would have appreciated your attitude. Maybe in the RPish sections but that forum has always been open to the public.

Not everyone here has played TT, in fact that isn't the primary target audience believe it or not. In fact I'd wager a majority of people here started out on the Mechwarrior games, from 1, 2, 3 and 4. Maybe even the people who got here started out on MW:LL. The target audience are fans of all of Battletech, so stop speaking like your the devs, and stop acting like people who love this game just as much as you aren't the people this game was made for.

Oh and one more thing, experience doesn't make it an RPG, beiging related to Battletech TT doesn't make it an RPG either. This is a Mech Sim, in the same vain as the MechWarrior games, they weren't RPGs either. The big difference here is its a F2P MMO. That doesn't mean RPG.

Now, I can't give you a specific example like the Cicada one, but the goal there was for you to make the logical leap: Capellans had a lot of Cataphracts, and Capellans ran homogenous lances, so there were probably lances of Cataphracts. Doesn't break my immersion.

Instead of say, RPG purists demanding anything that doesn't suit their particular personal choice to play according to an arbitrary system of their design must be stopped? This is not an RPG title, it was never propped up as being an RPG, its a combat simulator, you CAN role play in it, but it is purely up to the individual to decide if they want to RP or not. People who want to force their personal choice of playing style onto the entire community have the potential to do much more damage than having 1 week a month where the brand new mech is all over the battlefield. You do not get to decide what the definition of "fun" is in this game for other people, and thinking you do get to decide suggests that you have an unjustified sense of entitlement. I would have to assume from the tone of your post that if I start every match by making a joke about GEICO saving you money on your mech insurance that it would ruin your RP fun when you get dropped against me, or even on the same team.

I for one cant wait for the Cataphract, though i have two concerns. The first one is about its ability to fit 2x gauss, when the Netcode fix will come sometime in the future. The second about its looks. It doesnt look as polished as it could be on the last weekly screenshot. Especially when it comes to the cockpit and the feet. Hopefully PGI did some work in that place: (click on screen to enhance)



But still, a new mech is always a great thing and i hope we guys will enjoy the heck out of it.
