Using words like OG (Which by the way means Original Gangster) and interwebs (which means nothing) tells me you lack even the basic understanding of coding, and therefore are not qualified to say what developers do or do not do in terms of netcode.

It looks to me like you have amazing powers of handwaving and sweeping-under-the-rug.

Saying lag shooting "fits the game" is like saying we should also be using VGA graphics again, and to be really fitting the sounds should be replaced with beeps and boops from Pong.

Lag shooting is in the current state of the game. This isn't a thread asking to revert to the ways of old games, that's all ready happened in this sense. But If you need help lag shooting, try my tips.

I wouldn't dismiss it right away, he's raising the point of lag shooting again for any new players entering the game that might not have seen any of the other threads, and SSRM2 aren't the only weapon good for taking out scouts. Raking lasers across their legs is a winner (and higher entertainment value) or even my personal favourite, plugging them with a guass hit (yes it can be done, I assure you). So I think his post was perfectly valid just misplaced.

EDIT: Correct games aren't suppose to be about lag shooting but unfortunately that is the reality of what we currently have to deal with until things are improved.

This is the TLDR

ITT: How to shoot a 'Mech that has buggy targeting thanks to poor netcoding whenever it moves at top speed.

The answer: You can't shoot it accurately unless it's moving straight at you or away from you. Use Streaks or else you're firing at empty air to actually hit the 'Mech, and precision shots are impossible.

Saying lag shooting "fits the game" is like saying we should also be using VGA graphics again, and to be really fitting the sounds should be replaced with beeps and boops from Pong.

I take it this is your first MechWarrior game played online.
