No Downtime Notice And Forum Auth Locked To Game Auth - 2 Rookie Mistakes You Cannot Make As A Fledgling Mmo

Recommended this game to a bunch of friends at work today.
Don't think they'll thank me in the morning. With free WoW trials, Tera trials, SWTOR ftp, not to mention established brands like LoL and TF2, you can't drop the ball like this. Please feed this back to your live production team.
Thanks.
A concerned MechWarrior.

We were, and always have been, told that the servers are going wdown from 10am-~1 or 2pm Pacific Time on every patch Tuesday.
Fret not.

I did it, we all did it, and we all still do it... mistakes happen.

Probably more so as this really isn't an "MMO" anyway at this point. Not sure why he compared it to them. Then again he also suggests that LoL is an established brand while Mechwarrior having been around since the 90's is not.

Nice contribution mister two posts.. if you had been around long enough you would know how the patching works as well as the patch notes release. Maybe spending some time reading the forums and learning rather than posting garbage you would learn a few things? Then again you are a two post dillhole who immediately grabs for the pitchfork and torch ready to storm the castle huh..

Erm, ok. Well I respect your entitlement to your opinion. But in respect to your argument, I'd like to highlight two things:
1) Other people are other being sarcastic or have some level of agreement
2) "Nice contribution mister two posts.. if you had been around long enough you would know how the patching works as well as the patch notes release." - Well...yeeeeees.
But if that was the case, I'd already be an engaged user. Are you suggesting that PGI's business model should revolve around telling new players to xxxx off and get a clue? Or are you suggesting that as a new user I should be expected to dig through the forums to find outage information, rather than being advised of it clearly when I first visit the website dedicated to the game? If the latter, then have you considered a job in IT? I hear being supercilious and obtuse are in high demand.

Oh, wait, you're serious, let me laugh even harder...

They have gotten better, but the "undocumented patch notes" threads would like to have a word with you

Note: I'm not angry or belittling anyone here, just think it is funny.

And yeah, they need in-game announcements saying "Server coming down in 30 minutes" or whatever, and a better "Front Page News" thing to announce upcoming patches or downtime.
