Now before ppl say "The prices are not tied to the original BT", you are wrong. For example:

Raven RVN-3L: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Raven [EVEN THE VARIENT PRICES ARE CORRECT]

The list goes on. Compare all the varients. They are all near perfect. So why is the Cataphract not 13.6m cbills like it should be? Plz refrain from the "its cheaper so i am happy" comments. This is supposed to be a BT game. And besides DHS, its is very very close.

They are that expensive because they all have Jump Jet ability. And if your Cataphract doesnt have JJ's, then wtf are you doing.

The price of Mechs is programmed to mirror the in-game costs of the equipment on it, plus base chassis.

The cost of equipment and stuff is not TT-correct, as balancing factors... therefore...

I think its bcuz of lower parts price(they lowered price of some weapons and engines like 1 month ago) bcuz ppl was buying Atlases for MC and selling for high prices to buy another mech.

Its cheaper because of several factors.

The engine is made by GM, and as we all know due to government financial backing they were able to keep the doors open longer. So in return they are able to put out a cheaper product. This cost reduction in turn is reducing the cost of the Cataphract by a great deal. Not to mention most of the actuators and electronic components are made overseas in places where the labor cost is considerably lower. Then there is the NAFTA trade agreement and the overproduction of patrolium output by OPEC nations.

As you can see there are a good number of factors that go into the cost reduction of the Cataphract.
