Still, I had thought the K2 dual PPC variant wasn't available in 3049. This might mean that PGI is giving us access to later year variants (just not the weapons that those variants might have been carrying)

The CPLT-K2 variant was listed in TRO:3025

"Another version was created by House Kurita technicians, who modified the basic Hollis chassis as well as the armor placement. The weaponry has also been changed to make the 'Mech more of a close combat system. The Kurita variant has five more heat sinks, two PPCs, two machine guns, and two medium lasers. Despite this, the Catapult's lack of hands makes it better at fire support than at close-range combat"

Wasn't the variant first introduced in 3033? I know it showed up in TRO 3025, but the official date if I remember correctly is 3033?

How much to smuggle one out of Kurita? Or should I just go steal one, while everybody is eyeballing Omi?

Ah, thanks. I've been trying to find a reference of variants, the year they are available and their weapon type mount locations in order to do some spec'ing.

Oh my ******* god

My jaw dropped and I put my hand over my mouth

I am so glad I decided to mainly pilot the Catapult when this game finally goes live. That thing is SO sick. I can't contain all these feels.

I hear you man. I'm DEFINITELY going to have a garage with a couple Cataps in it. ;)

Hopefully we'll see her in action soon. With a lot of cresting areas in the map, it will give them many places to survey and unleash their fury!

I have always like the Catapult, but this is freaking amazing, especially the PPC variant, it just looks mean!

I will also agree the a previous poster, the missile racks are a little large, especially compared to the Atlas LRM10+10

So far, I have been very impressed with not only the vehicle graphics and animations of MWO but also the sounds being developed by the MWO Dev team. I will be very interested to hear the MWO interpretation of PPC firing.

Nice models.
Make sure you guys see the originals in 1920x1080 in the link provided. Open Gamesradars screenshot viewer and expand them to full.

Unfortunately either these images are a bit over-compressed (my guess), or just softened intentionally.
I can't wait to see it in it's crisp glory, but these images and models do look good.
Nice attn. to detail, would really be nice if ankle's could bend to the terrain on both axis.

Piranha should get those screenshots on you're site, it's a bit sparse for in-game images. ;)

Honestly can't wait to see what the other mechs look like when they are rendered in game.

On that dual LRM15 launch, I hope that after some refinement, PGI chooses to add heavy smoke trails coming out of the bays. I also hope that the sound of LRM's screaming out of their pods gives an indication to their power.

I noted the kickup of dirt that was beginning on the jump jet variant. Also, love the blue flame design on the jump jets. Looks reminiscant of jets from Mech Commander. Nice forward directional thrust. Beautimous.

I agree with Aegis on this. Also make the missiles a bit thicker, they look like paper made planes.

Now for the Cat, looks brilliant. Simplying an amazing job. However I won't be piloting this girl as my friend wants to be fire support.

It's soooo nice to finally see some shots of the mech I'd already chosen. By the way, are those machine gun barrels sticking out from under the medium laser HPs?
The -K2 actually mounts MG's as a secondary weapon. So instead of having 4 1-space energy hardpoints in the torso, it has 2 1-space energy, 2 1-space ballistic. Likewise, the K2 should have 3-space energy hardpoints as well.

aint it a cute lil poprock? nice look, but, for an old assault/heavy pilot, too small. you guys who love the smaller mechs, rock that baby out till the guitar breaks!
