The variants with the torso mounted ballistic hard point will definitely be able to mount one. I'm still waiting on info on the available crit space, however, but I'm hoping that I can mount one in each arm of the 4X.

I believe one in each arm of the 4X or one in the right arm and a second in the right torso of the 3D.

Dual Gauss is possible for the CTF 4X variant. Not possible for the 1X variant

Do you really mean crit spaces? Those are the same on all 'mechs, with the exception of the arms - but you can see the Cataphract has a hand on the left arm (so 8 free crits) and no hand but a lower arm on the right, for 9 free crits there.

Perhaps you meant 'where are the hardpoints located'? If so, I thought I saw a post on that some time ago... but I can't recall where, sorry.

My build for this is:

4X

210 Engine.
Armour at 416/434.
2 Gauss Rifles with 3 tons of ammo.
2 Medium Lasers.
2 Heat Sinks.

I've noticed that with my build its difficult to hit a sweet spot with the Gauss Ammo. 4 tons is too much and with 3 tons I have to be careful of my aim.

So far, its worked really well. I'm not a great player by any stretch of the imagination, but so far it's racked up a nice amount of kills and xp from destroyed components and kill assists.

I think I want to go with an XL Engine though as this thing is really slow. I also have tons of space left and the extra weight shedding might help when I want to add more Gauss Ammo or a Missile System in the head.

For a noob player like me, my config seems to be standard as I've seen a lot of other players with the same thing.

No, I'm fair certain he was asking how many crit spaces are in each arm. It's sort of need to know if you're planning to mount quad AC5s, AC20s or what ever.
