My problem is the hundreds of anti-premade threads/posts that have popped up since closed beta, which are basically ridiculous. None of us want to play with pugs. But if a unit wants to practice with 8 mans against pugs to try out a new tactic or strategy, it should be their choice to do so. Not have to jump through hoops trying to get 2 lances to drop together or arrange scrimmages every time.

It should be pugs choice to get on TS as well. The people on the Comstar Teamspeaks are very helpful and cool. It's not encouraged or promoted enough.

Unfortunately since phase 1, going on TS is pretty much useless. Getting a near 100% win ratio requires having 4 perfect players on your team to make up for having possibly 4 horrible/afk puggers on your team. That means not many people in random drops anymore helping the new TS guys learn.


You wonder why the pugs hate premades so much with your 'holier than thou' attitude towards them?
As for none of us wanting to play with pugs? I'm a massive battletech fan, I lead my own traditional 4 'mech lance in this game, and I damn well want to play games with pugs! New players every match equates to new experiences for both myself,my lancemates, and them.
You want to test 8 man team tactics on pugs but can't because of the matchmaking? GOOD! they aren't worth any less than you are. They arent there to be treated like cattle just to boost your ego.
Care factor is absolute zero for you crying about how hard it is to get a 100% win ratio.
Realistically fella, you, your lance, your W/L ratio, and your attitude mean absolutely jack in the grand scheme of things, as the pugs are and will be the life of this game for as long as it lasts.
All you're doing is breeding hate.

Just put all the premade groups into a seperate queue and have a seperate queue for basically team deathmatch non-premades i.e. pubs.

That way we can watch it unfurl as the premades start whining about how they're not steamrolling a side filled with random disorganised players anymore and are instead getting their ***** handed back to them by other organised groups...

I'm really sick of this new kind of Mechwarrior racism. first it was trueborn against freeborn now premades hate pugs.

I hate this word (pug) because it is used as an insult by some wannabe pr0 gamers. Thats the guys insulting and crying when some pug stock hunchback puts them an AC20 shot in the cockpit.

This is a game. Its meant to be fun. If you cant accept that we ALL are here to have fun and you feel offended by others playing the game on a casual basis then go for som ESL game please. But stop acting like some ******** premature.

Solution is rather easy from where I stand.

Different game modes.

1. Group Warfare: groups vs groups
2. Public match: for your quick fix
3. Mixed matches: the same as right now.

This would not devide the playersbase at large, since "Premades" want to drop against other Premades anyway. And public players want to just have a few rounds in their mechs. For those that would like to taste a bit of both, there is the third mode.

Our unit has amassed thousands of hours of 8vs 8 combat against Randoms, against other units in Funwars, etc.

Now to force us play with 4 Randoms who often can't read their RADAR and are unable to stick to the most basic tactics is no fun anymore. You can't take away the core teamplay element in this game and expect us to be quiet about it.

We understand that it's often frustrating for Randoms, so why not implement two different game modes (one PUGs only the other one with premades)? But this "stick with the Randoms or they'll die and then we'll be downed peacemeal" is no fun at all. We want full control over the battlefield. No more randoms quitting or afking or whatever.

(I used the word Random for DerSpecht's sake) ^^

Hasnt your idea already been announced by the devs? this will be like WoT with random matches and company battles... while small groups still can be formed in random games.

Yeah I believe it was announced, wasn that supposed to be phase 2? You know the thing that is supposed to go live at the 4th of december. Patience guys.

I signed up to test this game Ultra. Though disappointed, I will continue to test this game. I will just do it a little sadder than I had Monday. :)

This is a fallacy - You likely wouldn't believe the lengths we go to to try and organise team-v-team drops.
To me, and many others I know personally, proper team-v-team action is the only reason to play the game at all.

I do PUG right now, but I do it only to practice my personal skills for the matches which matter, which are the aforementioned team v team games which I was hoping would come back last night.

I don't give a chuff if I win lose or draw in PUG matches, how can it possibly matter? Nobody knows you from Adam, and the only difference is the amount of XP/CBills you earn, which I have plenty of already.

MWO has 8 players per team, its just that you can only talk via voice with 4 of them.

It´s so funny, Ultra will save the game, we all need to kneel down in front of him and pray for his grace!

God, please help me to stand this ..... (<=that would have been deleted anyway!)
For me it´s better they bring it live in two weeks when it is working then yesterday with bugs!

And please remember one important thing:
It has been THIS community that forced PGI to implement the 4 Player per Team restriction!!!

I don't know why you say that. I see something very different: a few folks loudly bemoaning the continued 4-man drops, and plenty of people, like Springbok only 4 posts above you, like myself in every post on the subject, who've been having fun and think the changes have been positive. Nothing to do with it being beta, everything to do with making matchmaking more interesting and challenging.

That gave me a chuckle. I took off when they first implemented this 4man PUg Nonsense, camr back last week to suffer while I worked out the rust in anticipation of getting my 8 man groove back. I took the time to mess around with Hawken, Now it's time to try Planetside or play City of Heroes for it's final few weeks.. If I hadn't already invested money in this game, I probably wouldn't be back for a long while. But since I have to make sure they don't sneak the premium time button in, my breaks will be week to week.


Forced pugging sucks! PGI should be ashamed of themselves for not even bothering to tell us phase 2 would be delayed until after the fact.

I guess they want to make headway on third person view first.

It's funny how the angriest most anti-premade guys seem to be from countries far away from the main servers. They're mad because they invested a lot of money in a game they have a 500-1000 ping in and can't play competitively, so they want to ruin it for the rest of us by turning into world of tanks 2 instead of a real competitive game.

Their main tactic is jumping into threads and hurling insults, calling people trolls, and getting threads locked for no reason. If anyone says something about it, they call people racists and get their posts deleted.

When your premade has to play against another premade and can no longer get easy easy cbills one of two things will happen. If you are a good player who actually likes a challenge you will enjoy this or if you are like most premades that just want to win you will go solo. A premade group of 3 or more people is just not fair, the 8 man premades were completely unfun. It was funny cause the way the silly matchmaker worked it always paired them against pugs.
