Non Usa = Unplayable Crap.

This game is utter and complete crap with higher than USA ping times. My ping, an average for Australia of 300 is double that of the next highest in a match.
So been a close combat style shooter, we have to contend with the fact that most shots will miss because by the time the weapon goes off, the target is completely in a different spot.
I do hope that there will be an east asian server soon because if there isn't, all it will get from me from now on is the middle finger.

Aussies get the shaft in all online games it seems, but Australia has possibly the most bass-ackwards restrictive conservative government in the developed world. You guys really need to vote some progressives in to get the sticks out of your politician's butts.

Sorry I don't think politicians are slowing down the net that much with their legal X rated **** downloads in Canberra...
Theres a whole lot of ocean between Australia and America. That goes for the rest of East Asia except for Japan.

While this may be true (although I thought things are changing .. but I guess I am going off topic here), nevertheless servers in key continents would be forthcoming. Playing this game with a ping 300+ gives you a bitter feeling
As long as the game hasn't reached its "When its done" - out of open beta - status I don't expect that to happen.

That said, you need to lean to lead your targets and watch your crosshairs colour as it indicates a hit or miss. Then compare with what part of the enemy you are hitting from your target info. Lights will be the largest issue, but that what team mates are for. Stick with others and you'll find you can focus on larger slower targets that are less effected by our horrid latency.
ps . I wish there was a more liberal party.
Fun Fact- The "liberal party" in Australia is ironically the conservative bible bashing party that's more interested in hoarding cash and lining their friends pockets then helping struggling families. The more you know.

Australia is worse than Germany when it comes to strict censorship rules applied to media. Lucky for Germans lots of servers pop up in Europe for games and if they can acquire them will play with good pings. Australia makes it difficult for developers to release games there without having to make special edits and changes, and smaller companies don't have the resources to invest in those changes. Given that, many developers aren't going to bother investing in servers in Oceania or putting a lot of effort into releasing games there for what amounts to a relatively small market. I think it sucks for Australian gamers and they should tell their politicians to F-off. If it's getting better than kudos to them, I hope they can convince the government that people can form their own opinions when it comes to media and art.

I connect from Singapore and I have pings of 290 - 300. I do just fine. Learn to lead your targets. Yes, even with lasers.
Also, even people who are connecting with <100ms have issues similar to yours. It's not a ping issue.

If you really enjoy gaming and do it enough for this to "ruin your day/life" ( QQ ) get a better Rig, upgrade, i spent two months welfare ( yes im unemployed and live off pasta and canned beans for the sake of this ) on my new computer solely to play this at an enjoyable level.
in short; If it is important enough for you to play the beta AND complain in the forums, do something about it by investing in better equipment.

I believe PGI is Canadian, yes, and I know IGP/ÉJI is. My ISP is in Montréal, the same city as ÉJI, and I usually get 18-30 ms.
When I spectate other players on my MWO client, I see some of them always firing lasers a little behind their targets. They move the laser at the exact same speed their opponent is moving and consistently fire that exact same distance behind, so it's pretty obvious that they can aim and that, on the player's client, it looks like they're hitting the opponent directly every shot. But then I get a quick look at their latency and it indeed always confirms that they just have really bad ping (200-300ms).
Players with high latency should be aware that what they're seeing is what happened a quarter of a second ago, not what's happening right now. It's not ideal but just knowing that allows the player to compensate for the delay.
I've never seen any kind of lag compensation being implemented with any degree of decency, so I guess people will have to adapt...

Why you no add me as friend? T_T
Yeah 260-280 ping as well from Singapore. To compensate just
1. Learn to play face hugger/close combat Atlas (my main)
2. LRM Atlas with Artemis works this patch or Streakcat
3. Learn to lead target
