I blame you for using Legos as stand ins NOT having occurred to me for the development of mine (partially because I am still and the theorycrafting of what I want to accomplish with it)

I would add my sympathies to Drock, but not knowing enough of the story it could be the friend we should have sympathies for!

I blame you for not knowing that they made a new version called Hero Factory.

As for the board game, I finished the first game with my little brother 10 minutes ago. It was pretty rough and I got slaughtered, but the basic framework and mech customization works well and I just need to refine the rules and tweak some weapon stats...

When I complete the finalized version I'll see if I can find a way to post the instructions online and I'll leave a link in Off Topic (with pictures!) for anyone who cares.

They may still have some - but since they took it completely out of the catalogs.....grrrr

I blame you for the fact that while I was still collecting Legos I didn't have internet access - anything not in the catalog effectively wasn't there at all. (they don't even advertise the Technic stuff in the magazines anymore )

My kid brother still gets the magazines- and it is depressing - from them you would think the only thing Lego sells is brand-name garbage (Buy our stuff we are selling because the Movie sold!111!!) Chima and Hero Factory.

(About the same time I got old enough to be more interested in the Technic over the other sets.... Bionicle came out... grrrrrr)
