Ballistics seem to be the thing this patch. 2x gauss 4x ac2 2xuac5 Wow are there a lot of them out there at the moment. So... how do we take advantage of this? Is there a metagame for ballistics? I know ammo. How would one go about running the ballistics guys out of ammo? Lrms run out of ammo faster, but you can hit them without being seen. Any body getting kills with Artemis? Please tell us how you are doing? How about this, ballistics guys have to lead their targets. Are there any faster mech builds that are doing good? I know that the Jenners are always going to be the speed demons, but what about the trial cicada, are they holding up in this environment? How fast does one need to be? Any zombie players out there? Are you doing o.k.? I was wondering how fast a zombie needs to be to hold up in this environment. This is possible. Lets put our heads together and come up with some ideas. No idea too wild.

Nobody cares about solving their own problems? Are we all just going to sit back and complain until the devs do something?

You're tryng to have a cool, logical conversation without any extremist viewpoints. This doesn't generate high forum traffic (except your tone was pushing-it a little ;-)
Ballistics are the BattleTech weapon of choice for high-intensity combat since they're more heat-efficient than energy weapons. You can use PPCs to force them into a prolonged sniper duel, or use packs of fast-moving lights to pick the off one-by-one using tight adherence to terrain for cover, if they are massed away from their base you can prod for capture... Or, form a pack yourself and Ballistic back at them.
You can learn the weaknesses of your enemy's gait by walking in their shoes for a while.

In my Dragon-1C I am doing pretty well. I have used Ultra AC 5 for a long time, and now I just rip people to shreds with it. My dragon has an XL engine 300, 2 large lasers, 2 medium lasers, and the ultra 5 with 3 tons of ammo. Being able to go 87kph also helps. I do have DHS upgrade as well with 2 heat sinks in the engine slot.
Now I find myself heavily using my Cataphract-2X. I upgraded the engine to an XL 300 so I can go just under 70kph. I have 2 LRM 10's with 1 ton of ammo per launcher, an Ultra AC 5 with 3 tons of ammo, but I left the 2 medium and 1 large lasers alone. LRMs and large laser are good for softening up people at a distance until I can shred them with the AC. Also the lasers allow me to defend myself well against the lights. This mech I also upgraded to DHS and I have 1 added to the engine slot.
I am not sure how others are liking the vast amounts of AC's going around, but as long as I don't have 2 mech's with them hitting me at once I can survive. If multiple mechs are focusing fire on me, my only complaint is "WHY ME?!"

L2P N00b !!11!
Heheh... high-RoF AC is good for PUGs because you can easily see where you team's focus is and help to amplify it.
