Could just jam Atlas variants into your free Mech slots.

OR I could save multiple variants to the mech labs computer and outfit a single mech each time and wait until my beloved TIMBER WOLF and Dire Wolf are useable.

Yes, but then you might have to wait for the theoretical mech repair timer, preventing you from loosing more then one match a day or costing money.

I don't know how Piranha is going to handle it, but that is how I would.

if i break my mech, and i have the cbills to pay, then, repair 100%. no real money should EVER be involved in getting a mech back to 100% combat effective.

Then the payouts better be good or the grind is going to take absolutely FOREVER if we can get 1 battle in a day then have to wait however long to get back into anotehr battle unless we pay for it....The idea in this game I thought was to specailize a pilot into a given role? If my 1 assault mech is damaged and im waiting like 3 days to fix it...and I need like 500,000xp for my 3rd spec point but I get like 2k xp per battle or something, the progress is going to be absolutely tedious...onlyother game i know that is as tedious was RF Online....40-50 mobs to get 1/10 of 1% of xp...and that was at lvl 29. Only in the name of playability am I against there being a repair timer...and if we have to PAY for an instant repair...ugh......

Going off topic here, but, if you want tedious, take a stroll with me down my memory lane. I take you back to the days of Final Fantasy XI when the level cap was 75. You got into a party with 5 other players, and went to a location based on your level, and then for hours, if not DAYS ground out mobs for xp. God forbid you died, especially at the higher end levels OR after just leveling up. Why? Well, death cost you XP and potentially your LEVEL!! Your gear never broke, but, when it could take 75 THOUSAND xp to level up, and your getting 200-300 or so PER mob, ya, can we say tedious? god forbid it be like this here, that system was broken badly in FFXI. Back on topic: I swear i read somewhere that we will get enough cash per fight to make moderate repairs or was it for full repairs each fight? BUT, in any case, I doubt repairs will cost you an arm, a leg, your house and your car each time.

Well, not to say that the FF10 wasnt tedious, as i never played it...but 75K xp getting 300xp per is only 250 mobs to level....Eq1 and Eq2 were far more tedious up that high, requiring a vastly larger xp pool, with Eq1 being the absolute worst..and RF Online tops them AAALLLL. I only played that game for a very short time, but it really was, at lvl TWENTY NINE!!!! The top I think was 50, but it took 50+ mobs for 1/10th of 1%, you needed 100% to level....do that math.....The thought of it scares me...I dont think this game will be RF tedious but most certainly Eq2 or FF10 tedious....what really makes it tedious is that its the SAME THING over and over again...there is no change of pace, no change of anything and it just gets BORING...that is the case in AAALLL MMO RPGs and in WoT and im sure it will be the smae in MWO...what they need to do is addin more game modes, add in more maps, change it up so it doesnt get BORING within 2 months. World of Tanks, I seriously played it for 2 months straight and then only played it periodically for like 5 games a day after that....that game gets so stale so fast...I hope MWO doesnt go down the WoT path...there is so much wrong with that game....the only thing i think they did right was NOT make it a wash rinse repeat of the other WWII games, WWII and MOdern day are boring to me...its nice to see hte mid tech tanks that never really saw a hayday or combat. I would love a game like Men of War with those models.
