Download radeon pro http://www.radeonpro.info/en-US/

set flip queue size to 0 (default is 3)

turn off vsync or turn it on and force triple buffering (depends, performance may vary, test)

tweak other radeon pro settings as desired for performance/visuals.

adjust ccc settings to match as needed.

Google is your friend.

EDIT the flip queue fix works for nvidia cards too with rivatuner or msi afterburner.

The flip queue tweak alleviated things a bit, I'm no longer dropping to 5-10 FPS in combat. Still nowhere near pre-patch levels though, capping out around 15-20, but it's playable.

Thanks for posting this.

This may fix the ghosting problem. it worked for me and seriously improved performance.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND MAKE A BACKUP!!!!! (not that dangeorus, but i wont take responsibility for any damage you might cause to your registry) tip: you can use find...in registry to locate 4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318

;HOW TO : DISABLE TEMPORAL AA

;Temporal AA is the AA method Crytek used in CE3, and you might have noticed, one of its biggest drawbacks is ghosting. When something moves, there is some odd blur ;after it. That's the effect of TAA. There is NO WAY to disable this. But, it is possible : by deleting the registries related to Temporal AA. WARNING : I TAKE NO ;RESPONSABILITY IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG.

;Open regedit and browse to : /MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000 OR /0001, check the 2D driver version in CCC2.

;Look for anything related to TemporalAAMultiplier. I will check tomorrow. Delete anything related to Temporal AA. Then browse to ;/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000(1)/UMD and look again for anything related to Temporal AA. NOTE : if you like ;temporal AA, backup the registries. This COMPLETELY gets rid of ANY TAA in ANY game.

This fixed the FPS issue, but now I have no textures except the ground and skybox (with the models being faintly visible in contrast to the sky, completely transparent yet responding to the light like glass). What do? I remember this happening before, and going into Catalyst and setting everything to Software Controlled to fix it, but...well...maybe I'll try that. Do chime in if you know the cause, though.

current user.cfg file

Spoiler

enabling geometry instancing on older radeon cards (big fps boost)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000]
"GI_NA"="0"

reload ccc.exe after changing this, check gemometry instancing in CCC.

Mung - you should not be having problems from diasbling temporal AA that would cause you to lose textures. try disabling all AA and seeing if you still have issues.

I didn't disable the temporal AA. Never had a problem with it, so I skipped that step. Just did what you said in your first post. I went back to catalyst and set everything to software controlled (which has fixed the no textures bug for me before), but that overrode what I did in radeonpro. Poop.

Sort of worked, my fps is still highly unstable, its jumping wildly from 5-20 fps.

Latest Radeon Pro updates. I think the download on the site is still an old version, though I could be quite wrong there.

Will test with my HD6870 (single and CrossfireX). Might steady the ship.

Same here..im in a better place than post-patch, but still sitting a good 10 FPS with stability issues worse than pre-patch when I was hitting 40 FPS on forest colony snow & caustic and getting a very good & smooth gaming experience.

Hopefully in between these patchwork fixes & upcoming fixes from PGI to bring us back to where we where we will finally get this issue resolved.

Hang in there people.

+1 OP, Radeon Pro is helping a little with smoothing out the FPS without the crazy dips for me. Still experimenting with it so hopefully will get better results. However, FPS may still be lower than when I started 2 patches back I think (wasn't tracking FPS back then). Sure seemed a lot smoother.

Didn't notice any fps change between torso twist & using A & D but was doing it standing still. Can't figure out how to run in a straight line if you turn the legs with A & D.

Edit: After much tweaking, monitoring with Win7 Resource Monitor, GPU-Z, I have given up as my conclusion is that the sub-par fps is software related not hardware. Nonetheless, RadeonPro was helpful as it did have a couple of tweaks to try out.

What do I tell it to monitor? I have tried adding MWO into it, but it doesn't seem to hook into any of it.....

Used this prog for years now, works for all my other ****, but not this game for whatever reason.

Found out about RadeonPro elsewhere but having trouble figuring out what I need to set to what for it to work with MWO. Would be great if someone could write a tutorial. Specifically, how to set it up so that it uses the MWO profile when I start the game. What options did you change and to what? Thanks in advance.

Would like some advices, too. Which settings to touch or what not.. what is good for the cryengine? Do I set it globaly or a profile for MWO?
