Why denied it? What's so bad about that remembrance?

Probably because the opressed citizens of New Avalon would rise up and fight their Davion dictators with whatever they could find...pitchforks, IEDs, bows and arrows, etc. If they were reminded of how close they were to recieveng a perfect government back then.
While I'll give the Davions some credit for being able to fight fairly well (better then the idiotic Lyran's who's only answer to a problem is to make their mechs bigger); the Federated Suns citizens would be much happier living under the tenets of the 5 pillars. Everyone knows this.
While the Davions censor the arts, I'm sure this play would be not only popular, but there's a good chance it would be funded by members of the royal family on Luthien.
That's because we Draconians are openminded and love the arts however. You can't expect that in a propagandized socity like the Federated Suns. It's a pity to see their citizens lied to by the people that should be protecting them, to see the horrible things they say about our nation, when in truth, we've been trying to protect the last bit of morality and freedom since the end of the Star League.
The Federated Suns is a vast empire of evil, and hopefully one day it's lies and evil doings will be ended.
