Lol you mean vikings and the Normans or you talking Roman times? Either way I think you'll find most Brita are a good mix of celt,Norman, Saxon and Viking (with a sprinkling of Roman if you go back far enough) but that's all thousands of years ago . The last thousand years it's been the Brits doing the invading / winning accept for the colonial civil war.

like when you needed half of the rest of europe to beat one tiny french guy?

btw europe servers would be really great

Napolian? Yes after he smashed through Europe almost undefeatable, Arthur Wellesley (Duke of Wellington) chased the little Frenchman down, freeing Europe in the process and raising support ad he went, finally defeated "Boney" at Waterloo dispite The German allies turning up late. We had better tech (rifles instead of muskets) and better tactics (we won) and anyway if we are going to get in to the subject of diminutive Europeans causing trouble and the Brits having to fix it (this time with a little help from across the pond) let's not forget Keiser Bill and old Adolf. Like I said we have been kicking Europe *** for the past 700 years. I like fighting the yanks they have proven several times in reality to be better opponents .

So roughly I say 1 big *** server where we can all fight.

there really is no magic to clouding a bunch of servers all over the world and creating a Matchmaker that puts you in a game on a server based on regional preference first or resorting to the next better options if the MM Process takes more than X Seconds.

it's just [efford]

I'm in Washington DC and my connection is always very consistent and stable with all other games.

In MWO, sometimes my ping is 30 ms, and sometimes it is 150 ms. Maybe they have servers on the West coast?

that might be the best solution. Though as soon as the community warfare is in this might cause some lopsided games again. Like one unit from south afrika (with a ping of 300 something) and one from canada (50 something) fighting over one particular base.

No I wasn't thinking the ruskies on that one as it was a different front (+ we were only paper allies at the time, the USA and UK would have been happy if the eastern front had been lost and Stalin killed), but point taken Russia Helped once Germany attacked them , though let's not forget at the beginning of the war Jo and Adoulf had been friends

The devs live in Canada, the servers are in toronto (from what I know).

Putting the main servers in the EU makes literally no sense.
Just wait for your own servers, you'll get them eventually.

Hmmm.... I am in Washington State and my ping to the MWO servers is always between 90-120 ms. LOL, I figured the servers were closer to you guys!

I know games based by region of course get helped by having closer servers but would having more servers spread across the globe help with ping times on games with players that are spread out? What I mean is if players in NA, AUS, and EUR each connected to their own servers and then those servers talked to each other would pings be lower than if they all just connected to the current server? Or would those servers need to be physically connected by a direct cable? Or would that just not helped lower the hops/ping times at all?

Yes, but servers are crazy expensive. And setting them up in different countrys is a massive pain in the ***. It takes a lot of money, time and legal work to set up servers in multiple regions. Thats why the EU doesn't have one yet. You'll get it eventually, but it could be awhile. Or soon? I have no idea how far they are in setting it up.

When PGI thinks it makes sense. And a poll where 800~ out of 300000 (back in July) people voted is not representive.

I personally have not been enjoying the game lately since I have to literally aim everything about 0.4 seconds ahead. It sounds easy maybe? But just think of how hard it is to sometimes hit a target with normal ping. Or even 100-200ms. And now try and imagine playing with even more delay than that, 300 to 350 on average.

Point is it isn't pretty. It really ruins the game for me. I can't wait until there are EU servers. Then maybe I'll at least have 200-250 ping which is better than 300+

The amount of warping players is getting ridicules. As soon as character transfer and account wide station cash unlocks are implemented high ping players need to be forced to move to another server, and don't start with the ''But its not fair if I cant play on a server" BS because its not fair to the thousand players the high ping guy meets ether,or the players he kills because hes lagging to bad to even touch.

Also players need to be refunded for any items that cannot be transferred over such as empire specific weapons that were bought with station cash.

I have ping constantly between 130 and 150 ms.
But I'm wondering... if people from the US say here that their ping is over 100 ms,
then WHERE THE HELL are all these people from with pings of 40-50 ms I fight every day??

You didn't read any of the posts saying "The servers are in Canada" did you?

Also, my ping is 15ms.

I don't think PGI has enough funding to afford any more servers around the world, and the player base I'm guessing is small enough that it would split the community up even more.
