The very bad part is weapon balancing happens on 120ms+ results.
The terrible netcode dwarfs the issues associated with 120+ ping. Netcode (and server lag) can cause variable response rates upwards of 500ms.

Servers for banking ....Im sure its expensive ... they are all duplicated at least once first second ....amount of protocols even for simple operation is huge .... cellular company same thing but in different way.... We are playing game here lol Amount of data transfer as well as the many other factors are not the same to say least!
Actually, one set recieves all data for that day and places it all into temporary databases. At the end of the day, all accounts of the day are processed into multiple servers for multiple levels of redundancy. The amount of data transfer is actually quite minute in comparison to a video game server. The bank uses primarily COBOL, an over 60 year language that while wordy, still processes data procedurally, unlike I would imagine a video game.
I used to run a dedicated BF2 server on an old IBM blade that was originally a $16000 server, I got it for free because the company was just gonna throw it away. All I did was set it up in my shop and virtualized it and ran 3 servers on it, all of them 64player and they stayed pretty full too. Average ping per CONUS player was ~70 (mine was 5, lols). I took it down after a while because the cooling costs drove the electricity up $150 a month. For ONE tiny server, that was capable of running 3 dedicated servers of BF2 on it (virtual machines FTW).
Now look at MWO. It's almost ALL server side processing. BF2 was mostly client side processing. And BF2 was still system intensive for it dedicated server. And it didn't roll persistent stats like MWO. That would require a haus of server(s).

I die pretty often, and mostly by people who have less than about 70% of the ping I do. (weight class does not seem to have effect on this stat, but ping rate does.)

Thats a pretty bad poll, its asking people where they play from in the guise of determining weather EU servers are needed, if the netcode is improved as has been touted in the dev forums there would be no need for EU based servers.

Ping is not the only reason for EU based servers. I don't have any data to back this up but I find that games with
pure EU/Rus populations have far less idiots ingame. With idiots I mean kids, exploiters/cheaters and "press alt+F4
for 3rd person view" smurfs.
Pure EU servers simply has a better standard AND better ping. EU based servers is needed. There is a reason
why serious games have at least US and EU servers. If someone want to play with US friends, well then they can do
that but take the **** for themself while the rest of the EU players can play on EU servers.

A decent person should normally be ashamed of his/hers predecessors who colonized/killed/pillaged/stole other countries for the sole purpose of self enrichment ... You on the other hand, are obviously not one of them
Aand as far as the winning the conflicts ... yeah ... Thanks to all those brave men and women in the past, who fought for your freedom, The Island has not been conquered in last era of humanity... but don't be so sure that you are soooo strong ... Lucky for you, z-Germans were fighting a half of the worlds population in WWII... inc. US and Russia .. if they werent ... you'd surely speak German now ...

This is so true. When I play at 8:00 PM CET, I get nice gameplay with polite chat and stuff. But progressiviely towards 12:00 PM CET, when americans start to come come in, taunts and crappy remarks become increasingly more common. I admit though that these times mean that it's probably mostly New Yorkers I encounter, and probably very few Californians.

I tried out a streakcat today and it's TOTALLY NOT overpowered for my ping because I can't get a lock on anything faster than about 100 kph.
The only advantage I currently see in the streakcat is disrupting these annoying 4xAC5 Phracts, which have been the bane for every build i tried on other chassis.
Maybe it's op when Canadians pilot it. For me, not. (Also Frame rate has sucked for the last 3 patches straight. It used to be fine before.)
