At one stage we were seeing pretty regular patches to fix game issues but not anymore. While I understand the game has changed its "closed Beta" status, I don't think this means the focus should be on tweaking weapon damage (LRM's, SRM's, AC/2, SSRM's). The focus should remain on fixing those truly annoying and pesky issues with infect the game.

Eg. A group of 4 friends are teamed up. Every game or two, one is disconnected, or one must restrat client due to "fps bug", or one must restart because of a "black screen", or one changes loadout and gets the bug where it won't save and return to Mech Lab. Each time the group waits while they get back on, try to join or re-make the group. In fact, none of us even know how to communicate without going through third party software. Even as a party of 2, you can often spend more time restarting and trying to communicate instructions than playing the game.

I really like this game, you people do an awesome job and should be commended. I also really like the fact that a person can have the chance to own any mech or weapon loadout without having to pay, I even like the fact it takes them longer to obtain these items. Development of this game is heading the right direction so I would like to thank you for all your effort and hard work.

Agreed and as much as we all like buying bobble-heads, development emphasis should be on fixing the stability issues and core mechanics (lagshield/netcode etc).

People will never be happy lossing, regardless of game balance.

Tweak LRM's, one side will get upset while the other side is happy. People will then just look for the next loadout which is effective.

It is impossible to get balance in a game, no-one has done it yet, and no-one will ..... simply because perfection is an idealism. Discover infinity is finite and suddenly you need a new word for the theoretical, like infinity+1.

My point is this;
Focus on the bugs, you keep 90% happy. Focus on tweaks and new mechs/weapons, you keep 1/2 the noisy 10% happy.

World of Warcraft would be a good example of this. The never ending tweaks and changes drive alot of players to leave, but in all these years, the still haven't found the balance.

You might have a point;
If the programmers are doing game balance, or
If the 3d artists are doing level editing, or
If the PR dept is doing QA testing. etc etc ( +mix match any of the above).

Which ironically somehow seems accurate at times ;)

Usually in game development game breakers have a higher priority to be fixed, nevertheless they will continue tweaking / fixing other issues as well while they are at it.

FIX THE FU**ING NETCODE

As the OP said :"At one stage we were seeing pretty regular patches to fix game issues but not anymore."
But over the last 2 patch cycles the lag issues have become worse and worse.

Right now all I can really play is LRM boats since it is completely impossible to aim if there is a mech nearby.
And I am not talking about 140KPH Jenner.

PS: Piranha games is hiring a senior network programmer....seems they actually do not have the staff to fix this right now.
I'd really like to know what the problem is. There are hundreds of online muliplayer games out there that do not have these problems.

I guess that is part of the agile development scheme. Different teams work on different things. But I know one team that seriously needs their ***** kicked......

I'd like to give you a high 5. Please don't stop saying this. Seize the opportunity everywhere you go. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I see so many "boo hoo QQ" threads with an opinion trying to support a claim that something is "broken" just because they either can't kill with it, or got killed by it. I've been stating this $h|t for quite a while now, but not nearly as politely. Thanks for saying it in a way that I, at this point, wouldn't.
