What determines the amount of HP internal structure has? The bigger the mech, the more they seem to have. Is it based on tonnage, total potential armor, etc?
Its sometimes frustrating having to shoot more to destroy the internal structure on an Atlas than the rear armor (light mech problems).

Take your max armor for any given component and divide by 2. Except the head, where the internal health is 15.

Thanks. Although I understand its probably from T.T, it doesn't necessarily make sense that bigger mechs have hardier insides, the engine is about the same size on all of these things.

The internals HP is not the same as your engines HP. once you lose all of your armour every hit against you has a chance of "critting" which does not mean the same as other games. In mechwarrior it means they have a chance of damaging items in that component. The internal HP it the HP of your mechs skeletal structure. So your engine can actually get destroyed without you having to lose all of you center torso internal HP as far as I know

Critical damage to the side torso hit boxes of XL engines deals damage to the engine as a whole. However, it should be noted that, currently, critical damage to your engine will not disable it, but simply add to your repair bill. This is likely to change when we do the pass on the health values.
