ok, something a bit more current to the MWO timeline. i'll keep the sections a bit more brief to make it easier to read and for me to have time to write viable sections and still have a life. yes, Padraig OBrian is my second mwo persona, so it is perhaps more of an rp because i/he can experience the timeline as current (whereas Patrick Carnes of the Chessboard is a Wolf pilot and the story there is more than a decade in the future).

no, the Chessboard is not going away, but i may chose to focus on this one here just because it fits what we have (as the Chessboard was originally fit for the timeline of the later stages of MW4).

hmmmm, well, actually... maybe rp means something different in this context. i have actually created a new character in MWO: Padraig OBrian. this is more a backstory and then an ongoing story to see if i can stand having a non-clan character of my own.

no offense, just a one author bit. hope you understand.

Na I wouldn't change the way you are presenting the story it has a good flow. You also leave a "bridge" from one installment to the next which keeps me interested.

Don't worry about it, just get better, I need my favorite author in tip top shape for the next updates which should be good.

well, first off, thanks for the compliment. next, been trying to get time to sit and write the next OC post, but am less than half way through in like four days now... real life is a bit nuts right now. i do mean to get through the next bit from the Chessboard, but writing the longer chapters is much more time intensive and honestly, i haven't been able to spend that much effort lately (between work, house hunting, family medical issues, and other projects and activities... well...).

anyway, in the meantime, you are welcome to read through one that i have over on fanfiction.net: In The Shadow of a Wolf. it is a rather distant follow-on to The Chessboard (you are already familiar with Alexis and though he is long dead, Patrick Carn's is the "Wolf" that the title refers to)... you'll get the idea pretty quickly. like Chessboard, it follows a "ruleset" cross between BT, MW4 (et.al.), and real life physics so it isn't canon (or it would probably have been finished and submitted a long time ago). all but the last four or five chapters are out there right now (i forget how many; i have to reformat them for the fanfiction.net site, and know i just had a few left of what is done...), so it will take a wee bit of time to read through and i should have more of the OC up by the time you're done with it.

best i can do right now... :)

just a quick request for those with opinions on the story, please use this thread to express yourself instead of the story-line thread. thanks.

i may or may not respond, depending on whether you have a question. i don't pretend your comment has to be positive; reasoned criticism is welcomed... though mindlessness will just be ignored. hey, if you just don't like it, please feel free to utilize your time better elsewhere.

After reading all five pages I can just repeat myself, I realy like the story. Primarily the feeling that the war does not wait for you and that bad things happen outside of your controll.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you are still interested and following it closely enough to have such good insights.

Thanks, I appreciate that. The OC will be back, I'm just feeling dry on that story line right now, a situation further exacerbated by having other writing projects and real life house hunting stuff drawing the lion's share of non-work waking hours. but rest assured, O'Brian and the crew will be back...

fyi: I'm still a bit overwhelmed with other commitments and projects but as I've said above, the O'Brian Chronicles will continue. I wish it were my job to write all day, but it isn't. For now, I'm afraid that I won't always have weekly updates, much less the two or three I used to do, but I don't intend to let the OC die out at least until (if/when) they are off world. Fair enough?

Let me say again, I appreciate all the folks who follow the story. You make it easy to want to keep it going. Thanks.
