as is says in the the title im going to playing soon and im interested in saving for the 2x i have a mid-long ranged play style so any suggested builds or maybe alternate mechs as my favorite mech the maruader mk2 kitted for speed and range isnt in the game yet also i tend to only use fire groups for alpha strikes and missle barrages and chain fire everything else.

I'm running an XL300, 1 LL, Gauss (3 ton), 2 MLas, 2 SRM6 (2 ton), AMS (1 ton), DHS, and ES. I'm not super happy with its fragility, but I have no complaints about its damage output. It doesn't have any noticeable heat issues. Engage with the Gauss+LL at range until brawls start, entertain lights breaking the lines with your MLas, face smack mechs with SRM6s if you have to, and when you engage with your brawlers find that ~130 range and a component you want wrecked. An alpha of 64 does that to people. You'll find you can melt most anything in front of you if you can get that mythical convergence. Just don't try and tank. Nobody in an XL should ever try and actively take a hit to dish one out.

I run, XL300, DHS, 1xGauss with 5 tons ammo in right shoulder, 2x SRM6 with 4 tons ammo in left arm, 1x LLas in right arm, 1x AMS with 1 ton ammo in left shoulder. Maybe with Endo as well, don't know.

(regarding fun to play & effectiveness. Most effective one is my 1X (Gauss + 5x ML), but this variant was (at least for me) totally boring to play)
