Just wondered how many people had played this in anticipation for the new game.

http://www.mektek.net/projects/mw4/

Have to say I had not played it / heard of it before as I had been a console gamer for years and was so dissapointed with Mech Assault, having grown up with MW2 and MW3 etc.

It doesn't look too shabby either on my big monitor in high res.

Still spending more time in the mechlab than the battlefield... I think that's the way of things. Currently have a Rifleman (love them) with two ER LLAS and 2 Rotary AC5 Autocannons. Also loving the Shadowhawk. I still can't work ou the appeal of Assault Mechs.

Can't wait for MWO proper...

I've been playing MW4: Mercs and its mods since their releases. It's a lot of fun and I've been playing some in anticipation.

However, if you can manage to download or find a physical copy of MW2: Mercs you will have a much more fun experience at the cost of outdated graphics and the occasional crashes. I've been playing that game since it's release as well and it's never gotten old for me.

There's a small group of us playing on Game Ranger (mostly cos it avoids the annoying port forwarding issue) and I believe there's still a fair view who play on the various mektek servers.

If you get Game Ranger feel free to pop by, at least a couple of us are playing most evenings and we always welcome having a few new people in the mix :)

I am slowely transitioning my controls to the ones of the coming MW:O and I'm also forcing myself to avoid clan weapons, clan mechs, clan components, aswell as anything made past the year 3049 just to be well adapted before hand. It's tough not being able to use a fafnir, bushwacker, madcat and any thing else delightful.

I kind of wish the weapons were balanced more. Compare the Thunder LRM-20 to the standard IS/Clan variants, for example.

Alot of people dislike MW4, but the fact is that is still alot greater then 90% of the games out there. As being one of the guys who likes to strictly use Inner Sphere mechs and weapons, MWO shouldn't be that hard of a transition. I'll miss my Bushwacker though.
