Is there any way to play the game through a proxy server? It returns an error 407 : Proxy authentication required when I run the patcher/game. But there is no prompt/dialog box to enter the proxy server, and authentication.
Thanks,

VPN would be a nice alternative to proxies. Why do you need a proxy anyways?

I'm at my uni, so the only way to connect to the intarwebz is through the unis own server. So, in all games I play, except browser based ones, I need to enter my proxy server authentication. And while games are not blocked here, I need a way to enter my authentication. I tried using ProxyCap, but to no avail.

I think I completely misunderstood what you're asking about, lol. Though I do think that an OpenVPN type VPN account would likely solve your worries if it was configured correctly.

@OP: I strongly recommend against using a proxy or VPN as they will not work for this game.
Also you might lose you University account because All universities have strict policies, they Log All network activity and using one would go against your signed agreement with them, or worse you could be expelled for breaching the security of the University network....
Now I'm not trying to come down on you, I'm just trying to save you from getting into trouble at your university.

Just tried it, works fine. It was even a ghetto PPTP one and it worked. Dropped into a match and messed around before I left because of my 300ms ping. I have a dedicated server in Germany because it's dirt cheap, I do recommend choosing a VPN closer to home.
It's okay if he loses his account. If he can't play MWO with it what's the point of having it anyways?
