So while guesting around these forums for the last month or so. A plan has been percilating in my head. This is what came out:
Step 1: Make MWO a massive financial success. This one is probably going to happen reguardless of the rest of the plan.
Step 2: Convince the Devs to include combind arms. This also seems like it will probably happen (I want my hover tank), eventually.
Step 3: Make that move increase PGI's profits by a massive margin.
Step 4: Suggest, en masse, that PGI develop a space combat/RTS with persistent universe elements similar to EVE online. The kicker being that it shares the shard Idea, a la dust 514, with MWO. Call it something like BattleTech universe.
The senario that I imagine is: a local garrison in the middle of battle has to enter into negotiations to get the jumpship currently in orbit to bombard the besieging force, while a merc company of single pilot fighters battle the clan pilots attempting to destroy the jumpship.
So should this get turfed to wild speculation? Is it plossible enough to make an actual suggestion out of it? Anything else?
This was my first thread to start on here. I think I'm doing it right.

How are the devs planning on making money off of this?

I'd certainly like to see some AI tanks and aerotech but I don't think that it would work very well to have players in them as well as the mechs.

AI controlled Tanks, Aerospace fighters and Armored Infantry...
A module that lets you enter the field with a squad of infantry strapped to your mech.
Another module called Armor Liason that lets you summon and control a Tank Squad.
It's like pets. I guess.
It could be a little cheesy but I guess that could work out.

I would have personally liked combined arms. I thought it would be nice if one of the high-end commander skills was to start with an orderable little group of tanks that you could have used as an annoyance or distraction. Easy to blow up, not too powerful, but what matters is that you took the time to do it!
I don't know how that would realistically fit into the balance of the game, but that's okay. Even if it didn't happen, I'd be more than happy with just mechs. I wouldn't want to complain there's not enough conventional armored vehicles in my SCI-FI FUTURE ROBO-WARS game.
Edit x2: Need more proof reading in the future.

The same way they make money on World of Tanks, by having premium accounts available, by making some ammo types available through a pay only system, by making some of the mech pay only.
