I remember my MW3 days when on 28/56k modems there was no such thing as good pings and we all had to learn to lag shoot. This is not my work but I remember it helping me a lot back then. take into consideration this is an extremely old guide and so lag shooting is not so extreme nowadays. Always start out at about 2 mechs in front and adjust from there.

Most people complain about lag shield but in my own Jenner I actively seek out other Jenners and send them running with a crit torso. The concept is simple when fighting fast mechs not just Jenners. Imagine he's about 2 mechs in front of where you see him on your screen. Once you found his sweet spot then it's over. You must adjust even further when using gauss or ac's.

The only time you ever shoot at a light mech on your screen is if he's standing still, running directly at you or directly away from you. Take mech speed into consideration if he's a super fast mech his lag point may be about 3-4 mechs out. I've noticed this when fighting a commando once. I constantly check my ping and I usually hover around 80'ish in case you're wondering.

Lag shooting can be solved by using TAG. Keep tag firing 100% since it costs no heat or ammo. Once you are able to hit a mech, your crosshairs will turn red due to TAG. Adjust with ballistics or just use lasers and fire when it turns red.

You know this is not true right? Most of Europe is way ahead of the US for fibre. And most European players play on European servers (obviously not possible for MWO at the moment). It's been well over a decade since I had a ping of over 40ms. Until MWO. ;)

Very true! Cannot remember when i've last had pings of 100-140 in a game....oh wait, yes each time the server was placed 10000km from me :-)

Looking forward to when there will be servers based in europe and my ping can drop down to a reasonable 20-30.

Me too! I am looking forward to being able to use ballistics properly. I'm so glad they are allowing us to migrate our accounts!
