I'm just wondering, why do I always log off the website automatically when I do something else for a few minutes? Is there a way to prevent it? It's really annoying.

I wish I knew, but the "stay logged in" cookie doesn't work either

It's a thing known to web developers as a session.

In short, the web is stateless. As you request one page or another, the web application has no way of knowing you're the same person. To resolve this, a session is created, which stores a cookie on your machine. This is read, per page request, in order to identify you as the same user. When the system logs you in, it takes up a certain amount of resources on the server. Since you have not done anything for a long time (what is known as the timeout duration), the server feels it is better to free up those wasted resources and it kills the session, thus logging you out.

The best you can hope for with how the server is setup is to log into MWOMERCS.COM and then leave that tab open. As long as you do that, you should stay logged in, but if you close the tab/browser, there's a good chance you'll have to log back in.

Good info, except this forum seems to be quirky. I get logged out if the tab/browser stays open anyway. Thankfully I usually do my posting in one sitting; once I leave I'm not coming back.

What browser and version are you using?

I get the same thing. I don't know about Belial, but I'm using the latest version of Firefox, and it logs me out every few minutes, whether I keep the tab open or not, and the "Keep me logged in." box never stays checked.

I too use the lastest version of firefox, luckily though if I leave the tab open and stay connected to the internet (meaning I don't pack my laptop up and take off) I stay logged in, when I close the tab on the other hand is when I have to re-log.

I am using Firefox 12 and it logs me out even if I don't close everything after I am inactive for a couple minutes.

Can you run FF12 in its safe mode (so it disables all plugins/addons) and see if the problem persists?

Check your cookie settings because that is a problem I don't have with Firefox 12. If it isn't your cookie settings, I would then be at a loss.

For me, using the latest firefox build, this is the situation:

If I go to the homepage and login without checking the box, I will be logged out after a few minutes of inactivity or when I close the browser window.

If I go to the homepage and login with the box checked to "Keep me Logged in," then I will not be logged out for inactivity [as long as my browser window stays open]. Not even if I leave my computer alone overnight, and that's as long as I have ever tried staying logged in without using my computer for anything. I will only become automatically logged out if I close the browser window entirely. Closing the tab with MW:O is not enough to log me out if I still have other tabs or browser windows open.
