- MWO balance becomes more stable and predictable (so I know I don't blow the money on an obsolete mech)
- MWO sorts out its netcode, matchmaking and general stability and glitchyness issues.
- I know I will actually have the time to play the game, beyond several hours on weekends
- I get more then 20FPS out of the game, for a gtx 560ti on quad-core xeon I really expect more for what I see ingame.
The game sure is fun, but definitely not ready to burn any of my real money invested in it. That also goes for premium activation, until I know the game is going to work when I want to play it, and that I will have enough free time to capitalize on the premium, I'm not going to click that button.
I fear many others may be holding out on investments for similar reasons, i.e. investing real money now is too much of a risk because a lot can change with the next patch. Hell, for all I've witnessed, we'll be lucky if the game is still playable after the next patch.

Permanently owned skins like League of Legends.
More premium sooner or later.
