Jenners are by far the most OP Mech in the game but tbh we need to have something for people that are not really capable of piloting the slower mechs where skill is essential. If we want more people in the game we need an "Easy slider" and the Jenner is perfect for less skilled people to be able to fit in to a battle with the more honed pilots.

They have similar firepower
Similar Armour
But get a huge advantage with speed + JJ and having a very small low frame which makes them very hard to hit. This more than makes up for the pilots lack of skill and is imo the perfect Mech for new players.

Lack of skill?
Really?
Speed is life.
If you do not have the "skill" to pilot a Jenner, that is on you.
Anyone can pilot a slow mech.
Put your helmut back on, quit sucking your thumb, and go ride your Big Wheel.

Ok, but only bad pilots can have them, and if they get good they can't use them anymore [/sarcasm]

Really, though, when they add knockdowns back in the insanely fast light mechs will be a horrible choice for new players, simply because doubling your speed halves the amount of time you have to react to an obstacle.

I would not nerf the Jenner's either I would fix all the other mechs the reason Jenner's and fast lights are so OP OP OP is the other mechs R-L turn rate is so slow and there Forward to Reverse acceleration is way slow. I'm not talking the torso twist that part PGI got right but most heavies and assaults are just cannon fodder for Jenner's even when the heavie, assalt pilots are skilled. Of corse PGI wont listen to anyone but the old TT players and all mechs should just plod along not turn and get back shot to death by lights. But this is how I would fix the game and mechs not nerf the Jenner's. Plus the mechs are already like paper dolls they die so fast its hard to have a decent game anymore.

Jenners are fine, they only seem OP because of the lagshield. Fix the netcode first before calling for jenner nerfs.

Not rly , just compare it to the other small mechs or cicada. Jenner is just superior to all.

I would suggest that all new players start with a Jenner so they can learn the basics of the game. Then once they have gotten a good hold on them be allowed to step up to the more underpowered chassis like Atlas and perhaps they will be capable with them.

As long as collision is put in correctly.. sure

A 30 ton light hitting my 65 ton machine shouldn't always lead to me falling too.
Some Jenner pilots used that in group fights to bring down targets while teammates moved into position

Seriously? Boo hoo, you can't hit the Jenner because he moves too fast!? Wait for the Flea. Can't wait to hear the griefing then. It's funny how people who don't know how to counter a particular mech calls it OP.

As far as collision goes, I'm all for it. However, I think there should be Pilot Efficiencies for the following categories:

Knock Down: Increases your chance to knock down/trip opponent during collision
Balance: Increases your chance to not be knocked down/tripped by opponent from collision
Recovery: Decreases time to recover from a knock down/trip

And these Pilot Efficiencies would benefit everybody, not just Light mechs.

Sincerely
A Jenner Pilot

P.S. If you can't take a Jenner out, then maybe it's your lack of piloting/gunnery skills that are in question.

Its the netcode Lag shield that is OPing the Jenners (IF there are OP). There are faster Mechs coming. We need to have Lag fixed before they arrive.

All weapons do well on Jenners, but there are amazing ones too (SSRMs for sure). have you tried hitting them and not sitting here complaining about how they are impossible to beat? That 25 damage alpha strike (maybe 6 shots max) is pretty crazy when an Atlas just sits there and takes it in the weak back armor.

If Jenners are fine

What are COM and Ravens? :)

I hear Ravens will get superior E-WAR, but COMs will only get as much as Jenners. (not sure about the Flea)

If they can't fix the lag shields, they should probably turn this game into a single player PVE game. The mechs aren't gonna get any slower with future tech advances.

If the Jenner is still OP then, the only reason for that would be imbalanced weapons, e.g. small and medium lasers being much more damage/weight eficient than larger weapons. Fix that as well.

Fix netcode so that fast-moving mechs don't warp all over the place. If you have to lead them a bit with lasers that might not be *perfect* but it should at least be *predictable.* Right now how much you have to lead a max-speed jenner is just an utter crap shoot.

Put collisions back in the game ASAP. The problem here is that collisions seem to be really confusing for the server, as it can't quite figure out where the jenner is supposed to be. This contributes to the unpredictability.

Yes, really. Since knockdowns were removed jenners require zero skill to pilot, because you can just hug your target with impunity.
