You would hope by now they would have beta screenshots, or at least concept art of it. They could at least provide some details of how the CW system will work? If they haven't even decided on the basic mechanics of it, that makes me worried.

They shouldn't release that information prematurely. I think PGI has become very careful on how they give out specific information, because everyone interprets it so literal ("3 seconds to core an Atlas") that in the end all it does is create a false premises and whatever they decide to change or rethink leads to more frustration on both sides.

They release concept at for mechs that are months out. I see no need to be stingy with information at this point. They need all the buzz they can get.

Judging from Kyle's post in this topic http://mwomercs.com/...on/page__st__60 they might actually work on CW allready.

Kind of a stretch from such limited hints.

As a community we really need to have more information given to us regarding community warfare. There has to be something more solid on the table by now!

I can understand why they are keeping it under wraps for now. Doing CW right will not be an easy task; they are going to get jumped on really hard if they give us partial info.

I know myself -- I'll be harshly critical of anything that doesn't fit into my own take on what I want from CW, and I'm sure I'm not the only one...

However, I am hoping that they give us a better picture than whats on the blog within a month or so.

Just a quick clarification about my point.

Some of you got it right, others possibly misunderstood something or i wasn t too clear.

I do not want CW tomorrow or in the next couple of patches, for what is matter. I do know it takes time. And i do know the game itself is not ready for it yet.

What I want, or at least i wish, are updates about it. keep the Buzz about it. I hope many of you may agree that the CW concept should be a major selling point for this project.

If you do agree with that, it would make a lot of sense to keep the communication about it quite open.

Also if the message comes out like "CW, is still ongoing, be faithful" that is a nice way to let us know it is rolling.

"Silence" is never good communication, and giving something for granted is not good communication either.

Therefore, my bottom line point mostly is:
Devs, keep us in the loop, let us know what s the stage of CW because WE do really care about it.

Also, due to the "peculiar" nature of the MWO Forum, where Info are scattered around worst than Periphery planets, asking for us to collect together pieces and bits of info from a few other Threads is a bit Utopic.

Just open an official thread, either in Command Chair or in Announcements and then keep it updated, not that difficult I guess? :)

with how slow the dribble of content is I would very surprised if [CW] arrived before December 2020

Well they shoudl realistically be half done by now.

Its been announced for 90 days after open beta.

Its been a month, so i would figure two months to make it and one month to test it so by now they should be able to give us a very good idea about what it is because they should be half done coding it already.

Sounds like what they had in steel battallion: line of contact,

I highly doubt they will ever put anything like that in this game.

It would be nice to have an update on CW but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think it's interesting that certain people in the community are patiently waiting for CW like it's some tertiary goal in the game.

Considering that each of you had to pick an allegiance just to be on the forums.

The people here that mention how the MWO game launcher and front end used to link to much more lore/faction/RP info, and who also notice that now it had been put on the very back burner, share the same concerns that I do. Mainly, longevity.

I want it to work.

Oh yes ... yes we were.

"90 days after the start of open beta".

Which is, of course, a pipe dream now given the way things have worked out and are going.

In addition, all mention of CW was even removed from the website during the redesign (when we went OB); the "Game" section of the main menu used to detail where the game was headed (CW) instead of what it is now which is a description of the game as-is.

What I think was actually said was 'after release' not open beta...

Open beta is a lie. This is the first "Open beta" that I have played that runs an active cash shop.

For all intents and purposes the game is live...

1. Open to all players.
2. Active cash shop.
3. No future reset / wipe.

They wrote something like "90 days after launch", not open-beta. The launch is expected for Jan/Feb 2013 but we all know, dates may change.

They said it would be in about Dec-Jan at the same time they said Open Beta would be summer 2012. Stuff gets pushed back, especially due to the amount of content that will be in CW. Find a faction group now, plan out/train your warriors so that when you finally launch in CW you won't be overwhelmed by regiments and units doing that right now.

They do have a lot of things that need to be implemented before CW can even go into Beta. As in netcode, more maps, and different types of drops, etc.

But Batwing is right. Community Warfare in the BT IP is the biggest draw for this game; for me especially. I love the drops and the mechanics of the mechs all feel awesome! But we need some kind of news on CW to keep things rolling.

It is still coming.

When? Uh, well, you see...

But yes, CW will be meaningless without some good, objective-based game modes and maps.

Pretty much already burned out on current maps / gameplay and very much itching for something new ^_^

I think it's pretty silly to base the game's concept around a mechanic you don't have implemented over a year after inception.

For once you and I agree.

The whole point of this game when they sold the founders on it was CW.

Contrary to the revisionists who say "That wasn't scheduled until after launch" we were told numerous times it would be implemented 90 days after open beta started.

With all mention of it now removed from the site and nothing on the roadmap, I highly suspect this will not see the light of day anytime in the near future if at all. And that's a shame.
