I've seen quite a few threads pop up on the forums asking about friendly weapon loadouts. I know without targeting a friendly it would be difficult to identify what weapon loadouts each of your teammates are using duing a PUG match and of course the problem with friendly targeting is accidentally targeting a teammate with weapon fire.
What about allowing Mechs the ability to identify themselves as Brawlers, Direct Fire Support, In-Direct Fire Support, Scout, Skirmisher... Ect?
It would be an optional info field that can quickly identify what each teammate's elected role on the battlefield would be.

This. Maybe just hovering over the teammate for a while will display their loadout. In conjunction with just turning FF off it should be ok to target teammates.
Also being able to rename mechs once bought. Id pay mc for that.

Allow people to select an icon in the mechlab for their mech which would appear when pressing Q or on the battlemap. A missile for LRM boats, boxing glove for brawlers, an eye for scouts, etc.

I like this. Set your role(s) in the mechbay, and a little color-codes square next to the player's name could show that role, and be split if the player has more than one.
