And i'm not talking about editing some text file to nerf something.

When was the last if ever improvement to the game at its core?

Which didn't mean anything with dx 11 ripped from it.

yeah that's why I made it a question since it really didn't do anything but make the game worse even though they spent months "optimizing".

On topic: as I think match making is the biggest hurdle this game has to attracting and keeping new players, phase 1 of the match maker was the last really big change, IMO.

this was the biggest patch *by far* and finished off closed beta.

OP, community warfare, netcode fix, or ELO matchmaking would each be bigger than every patch the last 6 months combined and would restore my faith in the game if done decently.

For the OP, the content and engine update time role outs aren't bad. They seem to have a low priority on fixing bugs though, either that or they just can't fix them; either way it is bad news for the players.

why do so many people think DX11 would be a good idea with all the problems still in the game (many graphical or engine related)? its like trying to answer a question with an even more complicated question. the game looks good enough as DX9, they're doing what they should and using their resources on MUCH more important things.

But i'd have to say besides new mechs, DHS, FF, and Endo were a huge change

You're going to have to be more specific. Phase 1 to match making was a big deal for a lot of people. It changed how you could group, which is a core feature. Cry Engine 3.4 upgrade was a big deal, but probably mostly a behind the scenes upgrade for now. Maps have been altered a number of times which has a big influence on how you play it. There has been a steady stream of new items introduced into the game that has a dramatic effect on mech loadouts.

In the next two to three weeks you are likely to see a number of significant changes coming to the game. New game mode, 8 man squads being able to fight other 8 man squads, new items, computer voice alert, and a bunch of balance changes that completely turn the game on its head.

Biggest and worst change you mean. And I only say that because the "promised" phase 2 has been delayed to Dec. 2nd (maybe). Pathetic.

dx 11 increases frame rates if your video card isn't a dinosaur.

Nope. Best change so far. It has made PUGging way more tolerable (notice the nearly complete lack of complaining about pre-mades on the front page?), and has given organized teams great opportunity for recruiting good pilots. I'd rather have someone who's been PUGging a lot on my team than someone whose been playing in a pre-made constantly.

I do not agree with anything you have said in this ^ post. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not here to start an argument about it and hijack this thread either. Let's just agree to disagree, as neither one of us will ever convince the other that their 'opinion' is wrong, as opinions are just that - not fact, not right or wrong, just opinions.
