Alright. Most of you are going to want to Catapult stomp me for this, but I have a Compaq Presario CQ57. Average framerate is 10fps or less. Everything is on minimum and resolution set to 1024x768 windowed. Aside from buying parts, or a new computer, neither of which I can afford right now, what kinds of fun but serious ideas do you think I should try to get up to around 30fps or more? I know there are tricks to this kind of thing, I've run games that I shouldn't have on computers multiple times without frying them. Here are the stats, which I KNOW you will all laugh at.

Intel Celeron B800 Dual-Core 1.5Ghz 1.5GHz
RAM 2048
Intel HD Graphics Card, latest drivers
Realtek HD audio

All of this hardware is integrated to the board except the RAM, which I need money to upgrade. Any fun things I should try? I already looked up the Turbo Boost thing and acted accordingly. So, any more fun ideas for me to play with?

There's absolutely nothing you can do with that Compaq Presario CQ57 laptop as it is not a gaming laptop and anything you do to it will make no noticeable improvements.

P.S. I hate Compaq and I call them ComCrap because it is junk and they use cheap generic parts that always break after your warranty ends and their computers are 110% proprietary as they do it on purpose too; Same goes for HP to which I call them Hawking Puke!...

sometimes you have to do what you can man or use what you have lol More Memory could help the entire system out not much more performance and memory is real cheap right now.

I tried this game for 2 days and unlocked the Raven 3L. I tried turning down all the settings and optimizing the game as best I could for performance instead of visual but the options were limited and disappointing. The game was unplayable using light tanks on my PC. (9 fps) On the slower tanks it is a bit better but still doesn't perfom well. (10-25 fps) The CPU generally maxes out so it must be the limitation. I won't be purchasing a new PC to play a single game as several other games I play run great on this pc.

With that being said then dont expect to much performance with the equipment you have I haven't used a card like that in probably 3 years or longer I've had a Quad core for over 2 years. Dual core,DDR2 and that 8800 512Mb card is definitely causing issues there cant be many games that you can even play on that.

I used the settings mentioned and now I can get into Mechlab. Previously this was impossible, as the game would load the Home screen everything would freeze up, some buttons would be clickable, ect.

This solution allowed me to load up into a match. Everything was smooth as silk, as I expected from a 3770K and a GTX 680. This lasts about ~2 minutes, where-in the game freezes for about 5 seconds, blinks out to black, and recovers...but now everything is moving much more slowly...painfully slow, like the computer is trying to run processes on watching paint dry.

Admittedly this is happening on another game as well, and I recently rolled back my Nvidia Driver from 310 to 306 and updated my BIOS as well. Interestingly this doesnt happen while playing BF3 on maxed settings (310 and 306 driver) Played for ~2 hours as a test run and had no issues.

I'm going to post a thread about it in the support forum and create a ticket.

I can post specs if anyone is interested in helping me out.

*edited for spelling.

Suggest you mail support@mwomercs.com rather than posting on forums per se since you appear to not have the game working at all. If you'd like to see if someone in the community can help then post here or in Player Support sub-forum by all means. Specs would be required.

I get slow dps on low to high settings, 1920x1080 or 2560x1440.

Disappointed with this new computer:

Does it make any sense when I say that changing my resolution and video settings doesn't seem to affect my dps? Another issue I noticed was when I play with the different settings and go from high to low then back to very high.. i see the details of the game are not changing.. for instance, the lasers don't burn anything into the ground and make that nice effect.... I tried going up and down resolutions.. then low to high to very high.. AA on off.. i don't know why sometimes the lasers make that effect and why they don't.. makes it hard / impossible to see what settings are beneficially affecting me!

Thanks Judge. I did that earlier without effect.. the odd thing is that this new system with the new card overclocked by 33% is slower than my old system q6600 3.0 core2duo quad 4 gig ram and a gtx 460.. mature driver issue? so odd...

Just a small heads up, from that post date you tried the game after the latest patch right? If you did I really don't undestand how you're still having trouble. This patch really worked wonders for many people, including me, now not only the game is perfectly playable for me but I also managed to crank some settings to medium without any performance hit whatsoever. From the specs you posted you should have no trouble running it anymore since your computer is a bit better than mine and now I play just fine. If it isn't a laptop do try overclocking the CPU a bit, 3.5ghz was easy to do with the e7x00 series and it just might make the difference.

I'd make a jab at the previous "buy a better pc" posts to people within min requirements but there is no need, as the devs continue to work and improve on the code everyone will see increased performance running this game so, with time they'll simply be disregarded.

Anyone still having issues just report them and keep checking for changes in upcoming patches, if you're within min specs soon you'll be able to play, just trust the devs and wait.

Game is still absolutely unplayable, I'm getting about a half FPS after this thread's tweak and all settings to low, 1280x700...

WinXP
Intel Dual Core E5400@2.7GHz
4 Gigs ram
nVidia 880GTS

The only other game I've been unable to play was Just Cause 2 because it does not support WinXP. Too bad, I was looking forward to playing this, but as is it's the worst performing game I've ever seen... :)

Yeah something is very badly optimized, or maybe it's trying to load too much stuff at the beginning of the match. What happens is this, when the game starts, I get about 0.5-2 fps, I can move aroud, but have about a 2s delay, with 1fps at most... I've run out, got myself killed, (being unable to control/see anything really). CPU usually around 80-100%

Afterwards, it switches to observer mode, where I can see teamates fight. Well what do you know, about a minute after the start of the game, it ran basically smooth as butter >30 fps, probably in the 50s for more than a few seconds, it somewhat stuttered at points, but was basically smooth. I think it might be it, the program tries to load too much things at one point and then it starts constantly swapping trying to load/unload stuff.

Oh well, doesn't seem much I can do...

Suggest you mail support@mwomercs.com for assistance.

Failing that, check back in a couple of weeks as they are currently working on optimizations and so far, performance has improved over the last 2 patches.

I7-3960x, and GTX 690, runs like a champ at 55-60 FPS.

Had recent lag, but everyone in the room had high ms to my 54. One guy had over 4000ms!

I can't seem to get my frames above 25ish at its peak. During combat I tend to be around 5 - 10, which definitely hurts.

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1
CPU - AMD Phenom X4 9600
RAM - 4GB DDR2
Motherboard - MSI MS-7374
GPU - GeForce GTX 460 PNY
Hard drive - 1TB WD10EARX

Looking to upgrade, as MWO is pretty much the only game I play, trying to make it a beast.

I have an older Gateway LX6200-01 computer currently running less than 20 FPS dropping into single digits (5-9) during a fight at low graphics settings with 1280x720. It is a first generation AMD Quad with specs of:

AMD Phenom X4 9500 CPU (2200 Mhz)
Radeon HD 7750 Core Edition (1GB DDR5) Graphics
8 Gs DDR2 RAM
Win 7 64 bit
1TB hard drive

With the latest (beta) AMD video driver (AMD_Catalyst_12.11_Beta11) installed I get a
Windows Experience Index of 5.9 with sub-scores of:

Processor 6.9
Memory(RAM) 7.2
Graphics 7.5
Gaming Graphics 7.5
Primary data transfer rate 5.9

I downloaded and install the ATI Tray Tools (both stable and beta) however when launched the applications crashed with an error of:

"Can not Initialize ATIPDLXX Library! Exiting now..."

Any help to get my MWO game running better would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks,
FireDog
