I appreciate your point but as a joystick user and SIM lover I am frustrated with MWO. At this point I understand the mouse is better but I will never leave my HOTAS especially considering a 'free look" down reveals visuals of the Mech Pilot (me) using a joystick and throttle - just like I have. They could fix this by changing the cockpit graphic to display a mouse in the pilots right hand and a keyboard on the left. Personally I would prefer joystick support but I understand a graphical adjustment may be an easier way to fix the glitch.

Guys, I need help. Can I use Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X's throttle only, with different joystick, namely Thrustmaster T.16000M?

So I would use T.16000M in one hand, and T.Flight X's throttle in other hand, and I would detach T.Flight HOTAS X's joystick and put it away.

I'm not really sure how MWO/Cytrech Engine handles multiple joysticks. From looking at the way the config names buttons on joysticks it looks like it might. It always has the j0 before the button when I map controls. So if I map a 2nd controllers button it should show that as j1. This will take some testing.

I use this program to actually emulate the mouse with my x52 pro hotas.

http://atzitznet.dyn...use3/index.html

The trick is to have the sensitivity as high as when using a mouse. It is way better than the built in joystick control. It requires some tweaking, a good stick that can sense the tiniest hand motions, and an AWFUL LOT of practice. But once your muscle memory has properly built up it is great.

I'm an experienced FPS gamer using a mouse, yet using this config (only for MW of course), i feel i have gotten just as good and my statistic says the same. Aiming is smoother, leading/staying on target is a lot easier. Flick of the wrist accuracy is lower, it takes me about half a second longer to get on a far away target dead on than my mouse using lancemates. In close turning fights it's simply better than mouse for me. Most importantly it just feels right, steering a mech this way (I also use pedals for turning).

Furthermore I think collisions must be back in the game.

I have successfully used 3 joysticks simultaneously in MWO; j0_, j1_, and j2_. Its likely more can be used i just don't have more to try.

Then why is 3rd person view being put in, It was asked for by a vast minority of people. Seems your theory doesnt hold true for that though.

I agree that stability and missing HUDs are a pretty pressing concern, however I'm frankly getting sick of playing MWO as a COD style game.

I'm sitting with two excellent joysticks I use to play MW3 and MW4 and yet the latest version feels like an arcade run and gunner simply because I've got to use an input system that feels like driving my car by typing with a keyboard. (IE unnatural and super cumbersome).

I'd love to see some indication that we are going to see joystick support in some format soon.

Sadly I suspect we won't see it until post launch of the Razer stick. (Marketing deals hmmm....)

Sadly I suspect that your config is the correct one, I may use the HOTAS from my TM Cougar to control the throttle as you said keyboard throttle = pants on a stick.

I also think that as it stands with arms that lead torso it looks like the game may be virtually unplayable with a joystick (I tried it, albeit in a limited gimpy fashion with my saitek cyborg this afternoon and it was a horrificly slow affair).

OK, you guys know I post often about joysticks. Now, for the mousetrollz: I concede a mouse works better. I want MY stuff to work better. And I am asserting my right to QQ as much as anybody else with a pet dead horse to flog. Odin's Fist, if your posts are not active attempts to troll, they damn well look like it. Pipe down. We know there is a disadvantage, but we have other reasons to play the way we do.

I jokingly once said that
Further I am of the opinion that mouse users should be nerfed.
The responses were next to unbelievably childish. I don't want your mouse guys, I want a more even break for my controller of choice. I have a Saitek MMO lying around, I don't want to use it. Thanks

As for us fanbois, the picture is that there are limited programming resources to go round in a game that I think we can be reasonably certain turned out to be more difficult to implement than was originally thought.

I have been critical in the past, and I do feel that we as a minority have just as much right to remind PGI not to write us off as any other guy with any other legit issue. Do so, but let's do it maturely as the older, more responsible gamers we are. I think I speak for all of us that an analog leg turn would go a long way. So PGI, that would be the most urgent issue from my side.
Don't stop making our voices heard though. It is necessary. I would go so far that we Joystick users are the Jenners of the Controller crowd. That does not mean our issue is not legitimate, plenty of trolling for no bloody reason to the contrary

If you use a flightstick for game immersion, then you will get immersion alright...
.
You will get immersed in lasers to your face, and broken flight-sticks from rage quiting and throwing the flight-stick across the room.
.
It would be neat if this game could "ONLY" be played with a flight-stick control setup, but it isn't, and the mouse and keyboard are faster/more precise than "ANYONE" will ever be with a flight-stick... End of Story.

Proper Joystick Control could be better than m/kb if seperated reticules (no auto-follow) and 7 full analog axis were mappable.

Arm Pitch
Arm Yaw
Torso Pitch
Torso Yaw
Turn
Throttle
Jump Jets (future proofing for JJ 'fix')

Perfect 'Sim' quality controls. Heck, with those pre-reqs, a real-life pilot/co-pilot sim pit would be sweet. The 2nd person could be an 'arm' gunner :)

I don't think any joystick set-up less than dual-joysticks and pedals will be useful in this game.

a left hand joystick controlling throttle/turning, paired with a mouse for aiming is better than keyboard/mouse imo

it will be even better once we get analogue turning

Im using the throttle from a Logitech G940 plus its HOTAS buttons and the Joystick.
One HAT for direction and no more looking for IR vision, Enhaced Zoom, Target, center torso ....
